If you're ready to make a real impact in a company that's redefining heavy industry for a cleaner, smarter world, we want to hear from you.What you will do:Electra is seeking a highly skilled, safety‑focused Electrical & Instrumentation Technician to support installation, commissioning, maintenance, troubleshooting, and optimization of industrial electrical, instrumentation, and control systems across its production facility. This role is critical to ensuring safe production, reliable automation, accurate data acquisition, and operational readiness in a fast‑paced startup and commissioning environment. Technicians work with minimal supervision, and senior‑level individuals may mentor or train other electrical and instrumentation personnel.Responsibilities include:Safely perform removal, repair, installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical and instrumentation systems and componentsInstall, calibrate, maintain, and troubleshoot industrial instrumentation, including flow meters, sensors, transmitters, analyzers, transducers, and weigh scalesPerform advanced electrical and control system troubleshooting, failure analysis, and root‑cause investigations to minimize downtimeExecute loop checks, signal testing, I/O checkout, and system diagnostics during commissioning, startup, and maintenance activitiesPerform preventive and corrective maintenance on substations, power distribution systems, switchgear, MCCs, motors, motor controls, and AC/DC drivesInstall, configure, commission, troubleshoot, and replace Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs)Install, operate, maintain, and troubleshoot industrial rectifier systems, including DC power distribution, cooling systems, interlocks, controls, and protective devicesDiagnose rectifier‑related faults such as abnormal voltage/current conditions, grounding issues, cooling failures, and control faultsSupport commissioning, startup, shutdown, and operational troubleshooting of rectifier systemsAssist with configuration and limited programming support of PLCs, HMIs, SCADA, and DCS platformsMaintain accurate documentation, including calibration records, wiring diagrams, loop drawings, rectifier settings, and as‑built updatesFollow all SOPs, lockout/tagout procedures, and electrical safety requirementsParticipate in safety, environmental, preventive maintenance, and continuous improvement programsMentor or train junior electrical and instrumentation employees as assignedWhat we need you to bring to the team:High school degree or equivalent8+ years of industrial electrical/fixed plant electrician experience; OR completion of a Certified Electronics, Electrical, or Instrumentation (typically 4‑year program) and four years of industrial electrical and/or instrumentation experience; OR an associate degree or trade certification with six years of relevant experienceThe ability to read P&ID, schematics, and technical manuals is requiredAdvanced ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex electrical, instrumentation, and control system issues, including root cause analysis and non‑routine problem solvingStrong working knowledge of industrial power distribution systems, motor controls, VFDs, instrumentation, and process control systemsAbility to read and interpret P&ID, electrical schematics, loop diagrams, and technical manuals to execute work and diagnose issues effectivelyDemonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision, determine appropriate methods for new assignments, and provide guidance or mentorship to junior team membersExperience with VFDs, PLCs, HMIs, SCADA systems, rectifiers, and AC/DC control systemsExperience with 480‑volt motor control switchgear and controlsWhat we want you to bring to the team:Experience with medium‑voltage equipmentExperience working in chemical or metallurgical processing environmentsCompensation:The anticipated starting pay range for this position is $40.00‑$52.00 per hour and may be more or less depending upon skills, experience, and educationBenefits For You:100% paid premiums across all medical, dental, vision, telemedicine, short‑term disability, long‑term disability, and basic life insurance plans$1,800 in annual employer HSA contributionsBenefits For Your Family:100% paid premiums across all medical, dental, vision, and telemedicine plans12 weeks of paid parental leaveBenefits For Your Future:401(k) with up to 5% matching contributions which vest 100% on day oneEligibility for incentive stock optionsIf you need an accommodation during the application or interview process, reach out to us at careers@electra.earth.
