Are you an experienced Street Lighting professional with a strong technical background and a passion for leading people, performance and operational excellence?

We're looking for a Senior Electrical Supervisor to provide strategic oversight of our Street Lighting operations across North Yorkshire. Reporting to the Operations Manager, you'll lead the delivery of electrical engineering activities, manage Supervisors and operational teams, and ensure the highest standards of safety, quality and environmental compliance across our services.

This is a key leadership role where you'll influence operational performance, oversee works programmes, manage depot and stores operations, and work closely with clients, stakeholders and supply chain partners to deliver essential infrastructure services. You'll also act as deputy to the Operations Manager when required.

What You'll Be Doing

  •        Leading and managing Street Lighting Supervisors, Operatives and supply chain partners.
  •        Planning, coordinating and overseeing works programmes to ensure safe, efficient and high-quality delivery.
  •        Taking responsibility for health, safety, quality and environmental performance across operations.
  •        Managing the Street Lighting depot and stores function.
  •        Developing and maintaining safe systems of work, risk assessments and Health & Safety plans.
  •        Monitoring programme performance, expenditure and resource allocation, including labour, plant and materials.
  •        Leading performance management, coaching, mentoring and staff development activities.
  •        Acting as the HEA QS/AO and supporting colleagues to achieve and maintain competency standards.
  •        Overseeing electrical infrastructure projects including EV charger installations and ICP activities.
  •        Building strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, contractors and industry partners.

What You'll Bring:

  •        HNC in Electrical Engineering, NVQ or equivalent qualification.
  •        SSSTS qualification.
  •        Minimum five years' experience in electrical engineering activities at Supervisor level or equivalent.
  •        Membership of a relevant industry body such as the Institution of Lighting Professionals (ILP).
  •        Up-to-date HEA portfolio.
  •        Strong knowledge of quality assurance processes and electrical industry standards.
  •        Detailed understanding of relevant Health & Safety legislation and its practical application.
  •        Excellent leadership, communication and people management skills.
  •        Ability to make evidence-based decisions and solve complex operational issues.
  •        Strong IT skills and experience using Microsoft Office applications.
