Senior Electrical Tech

Job Summary

The Senior Electrical Tech oversees and coordinates the activities of contract electricians responsible for executing all electrical work in the Permian Basin field. This role is responsible for troubleshooting existing installations and making repairs.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Prioritizes and coordinates the installation, maintenance, and repair of company operated primary and secondary volage electrical systems to ensure that they are performing safely, efficiently, and reliably.

• Evaluates and corrects system issues at facilities, and at well sites to ensure continuity of critical operations.

• Performs and coordinates inspections on existing electrical sites to ensure electrical safety/code compliance.

• Generates work orders and closes orders as necessary.

• Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma (or GED).

• Minimum of ten (10) years electrical experience.

• Texas Journeyman License (TDLR).

• Valid Driver’s license with acceptable MVR.

• Ability to pass a respiratory fit test, if applicable to route/location.

• An acceptable pre-employment drug screen and background.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience working in oil & gas.

• Two (2) years of supervisory experience.

Physical Requirements 

• Ability to stoop, stand, walk, pull, carry instruments, and climb stairs and ladders for an extended period of time.

• Ability to lift and carry up to 50lbs.

• Ability to work overhead for extended periods of time.

• Ability to perform fine manipulations with hands and fingers.

• Capable of driving distances of 150 miles or more per day during all types of weather conditions.

• Ability to one arm carry up to 25lbs. without assistance.

• Regular bending, crouching, pulling, and kneeling to check equipment and gauges.

• Must be able to exert up to 50lbs. of force occasionally and up to 20lbs. frequently to move or manipulate objects.

• Ability to work significant amounts of time as required in completing job responsibilities.

• Working environment includes exposure to extremely loud noises in the field, hazardous chemicals, and hydrocarbons that may be under extreme pressure for which appropriate safety measures are required.
