Description
Oxford Solutions is seeking a Senior Embedded Software Engineer for a 6- to 12-month contract opportunity with a technology organization developing safety-critical systems for the transportation industry. This hybrid position requires candidates to currently reside in the Pittsburgh, PA area.
Must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship. C2C arrangements are not available for this position.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience developing embedded software in C for real-time environments. You will contribute to onboard software applications used in highly regulated, safety-focused systems.
Responsibilities
Design, develop, test, and maintain embedded software using C
Support onboard, real-time software applications
Translate system and engineering requirements into reliable software solutions
Participate in software design reviews, code reviews, debugging, and integration testing
Troubleshoot complex software and hardware interaction issues
Develop software in accordance with safety-critical engineering standards and processes
Collaborate with systems, hardware, validation, and engineering teams
Create and maintain technical documentation throughout the development lifecycle
Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
5-8+ years of professional software development experience using C
Expert-level proficiency in Embedded C
Strong experience developing software for real-time embedded systems
Experience with onboard, transportation, industrial control, aerospace, defense, automotive, or other safety-critical systems is preferred
Familiarity with structured software development, testing, verification, and configuration management practices
Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills
Must currently reside within commuting distance of Pittsburgh, PA
Must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship. C2C arrangements are not available for this position.
