We are seeking a Senior EMI/EMC Test Engineer for an urgent backfill supporting two critical programs. This is an exciting opportunity to work with advanced satellite communications products and collaborate closely with hardware, software, mechanical, and program engineering teams.
The Senior Test Engineer will lead product reliability, qualification, certification, and regulatory testing throughout the product development lifecycle. This position is ideal for a hands-on engineer who enjoys troubleshooting complex technical issues, improving product performance, and bringing advanced communications systems successfully to market.
Manage and prioritize multiple testing projects in a fast-paced engineering environment.
Collaborate with Hardware Engineering, Software Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Test Engineering, and program technical leads.
Conduct proof-of-design, risk-mitigation, qualification, engineering, and proof-of-manufacturing testing on operating and non-operating hardware.
Provide technical risk assessments based on design concepts, models, and test results.
Recommend design enhancements to address product deficiencies before formal qualification testing.
Troubleshoot radiated and conducted emissions, immunity, mechanical design defects, and component degradation issues.
Review drawings, specifications, parts lists, mock-ups, and products to develop and integrate required test fixtures.
Create detailed test plans, procedures, reports, and contractual documentation, including CDRL documents.
Track and communicate product performance, capabilities, defects, and corrective actions.
Maintain accurate testing records and supporting documentation.
Travel occasionally to local and out-of-state Nationally Recognized Testing Laboratories to conduct compliance and reliability testing, equipment operation, and debugging.
Five to ten years of related test engineering experience with a Nationally Recognized Testing Laboratory or third-party testing organization such as UL or TÜV.
Hands-on experience troubleshooting radiated and conducted emissions, immunity, mechanical design defects, and component degradation issues.
Experience using oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, ESD guns, RF power amplifiers, transient and surge generators, signal generators, data loggers, power analyzers, hipot testers, Ethernet traffic generators, and other EMC and safety testing equipment.
Experience working with biconical, log-periodic, and horn antennas.

Strong technical writing skills with experience creating test procedures, reports, and formal customer or government documentation.
Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and consistently meet deadlines.
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, organizational, and communication skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Teams, and related business applications.
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline.
Ten or more years of relevant industry experience may be considered in place of a degree.
