An innovative engineering organization developing next-generation power and energy systems is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer with strong power electronics expertise. This position offers the opportunity to work on highly efficient, compact electrical power solutions used in demanding applications across advanced mobility, industrial, and mission-critical platforms.

This is a hands-on engineering role for someone who enjoys taking products from early development through testing and production. The environment is fast-moving and collaborative, requiring engineers who are comfortable solving complex technical problems, working across disciplines, and owning hardware development activities end-to-end.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Design and develop power electronics systems including converters, inverters, motor controllers, battery interface circuits, and power distribution hardware
  • Create schematics, perform simulations, support PCB development, and validate electrical designs through prototype testing
  • Conduct hands-on lab work including debugging, troubleshooting, hardware bring-up, rework, and performance verification
  • Investigate and resolve electrical, thermal, EMI/EMC, and reliability-related issues
  • Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams including controls, firmware, mechanical, and test engineering groups
  • Support rapid prototyping and iterative product development efforts in a fast-paced engineering environment
  • Interface with outside suppliers, manufacturing partners, and third-party engineering resources to ensure successful hardware integration and quality
  • Assist with broader electrical engineering efforts such as instrumentation, control systems, wiring architecture, and integrated system development
  • Drive continuous product improvement initiatives focused on performance, manufacturability, and long-term reliability
  • Participate in system-level integration and support development activities throughout the product lifecycle

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical discipline
  • Strong experience designing and developing power electronics hardware
  • Background working with high-voltage and/or high-current systems, motor drives, power conversion equipment, or related technologies
  • Experience with hardware validation, prototype integration, lab testing, and failure analysis
  • Solid understanding of PCB design considerations, thermal management, EMI mitigation, and design-for-manufacturing principles
  • Comfortable performing hands-on electrical lab work and troubleshooting complex hardware systems
  • Experience coordinating with contract manufacturers, suppliers, or external engineering partners
  • Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within cross-functional engineering teams
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to drive technical issues to resolution
  • Adaptability and willingness to contribute across multiple areas within a dynamic engineering environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience developing lightweight, high-efficiency electrical systems for aerospace, defense, transportation, or similar industries
  • Familiarity with hybrid power architectures, generator systems, or ruggedized electrical platforms
  • Knowledge of CANbus, Modbus, or other industrial communication protocols
  • Experience using PCB design software such as Altium Designer, OrCAD, or similar tools
  • Exposure to embedded firmware or low-level software development using C/C++
  • Prior experience leading technical projects or coordinating activities across multiple engineering teams and external partners
