Senior Engineer

Shift/Schedule: Monday - Friday 7:00a - 3:30p

Key Functions

• Adhere to a comprehensive, fully operational preventative maintenance/work order program to provide for the complete maintenance of The Clinic to ensure that all buildings and equipment are managed in a manner that maximizes life cycles and maintains or improves functioning levels.
• Accurately completes work orders.
• Maintains all commercial kitchen equipment
• Performs preventative maintenance all commercial kitchen equipment through work order system
• Able to correctly identify and repair issues with commercial kitchen equipment.
• Manage Multiple responsibilities, projects and tasks simultaneously, work under deadlines and meet deadlines in stressful or difficult situations.
• Independent judgment and decision making when required with the ability to operate without supervision.
• Accomplish small construction projects that require various construction techniques such as framing, welding and cutting. A
• Teach subject matter to others and train others through explanation, demonstration or practice.
• Operate hand tools, power tools, ladders, welders, torches, and registered department vehicles in a safe and efficient matter.
• Maintains the HVACR systems.
• Completes inspections of HVAC systems per preventative maintenance program.
• Able to correctly diagnose and repair failed units.
• Replaces key components when they fail.
• Maintain plumbing systems.
• Completes inspections per PM program.
• Maintains proper plumbing operations.
• Maintains proper urinal operations.
• Installs appliances and bathroom fixtures.
• Installs water piping and gas lines.
• Maintain buildings in good repair and kept free of hazards such as those created by any damaged or defective parts of the building in compliance with state and local codes and regulations, and the hospital safety policies.
• Adhere to safety procedures as determined by departmental policy in regard to the use of tools, equipment and electrical safety requirements.
• Respond to all fire alarms and emergency codes as assigned.
• Assure continuity of Facilities Management mission statement through punctual, regular attendance and reliability.
• Does not abuse or take advantage of PTO.
• Provides proper notification and advance notice for absence or tardiness.
• Consistently is on time and ready to work at the start of the shift.
• Demonstrates an understanding of developmental tasks and special needs for, and the ability to establish rapport with children, adolescents, adults and older adults/geriatrics.
• Complete other duties as requested.
• Accepts additional assignments willingly.
• Demonstrates an ability to perform a variety of duties, maintains flexibility as departmental needs change.
• Demonstrates an ability to respond to changing workloads and crisis and emergency situations.

Education Required:

• High School diploma or equivalent.

License/Certification Required:

• EPA Universal Certification
• Must be licensed to operate a motor vehicle in the state of Texas and be insurable by Menninger Clinic.

Preferred:

• Eligible to obtain HVAC Commercial Service I certificate. Must obtain within 60 days of employment.

Experience Required:

• Seven (7) years' experience in maintenance of commercial kitchen equipment in a kitchen environment.
• Seven (7) years' experience in HVAC and refrigeration equipment
• Seven (7) years' experience in operation and maintenance of buildings.
• Working knowledge of national and state codes.
