The position requires flexibility to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, and the ability to meet Nevada gaming registration requirements.Position OverviewFusion HCR is seeking a Senior Engineer – IT to support business value-driven technology projects for a leading gaming and hospitality organization. The role will lead technical analysis, application development, integration, testing, implementation, and production support across the software development lifecycle. This professional will translate business requirements into technical specifications, collaborate with architecture and business teams, and help deliver secure, reliable systems and upgrades within established project parameters. The Senior Engineer will also provide technical leadership through code reviews, best-practice evaluations, documentation, mentoring, and knowledge sharing. Success in this role requires strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, effective communication with technical and non-technical audiences, and the ability to prioritize work according to business needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead development teams in effective processes, policies, continuous improvement, and capability development.
- Perform code reviews and promote efficient, secure, and high-quality software development practices.
- Develop, test, install, configure, and troubleshoot hardware and software.
- Participate in project sizing, design, development, testing, implementation, and solution validation.
- Translate business requirements into technical specifications and collaborate with IT Architecture on holistic solutions.
- Evaluate development practices, technology platforms, and tools with other engineers.
- Coordinate troubleshooting and resolution of software defects and technical issues.
- Support secure, reliable system implementations and upgrades across interdisciplinary teams.
- Follow Agile, Waterfall, SDLC, project governance, Sarbanes-Oxley, and casino regulatory requirements.
- Create and maintain system documentation.
- Mentor IT engineers, cross-train team members, communicate complex information clearly, and prioritize work based on business needs.
Required Qualifications
- Must be at least 21 years of age and authorized to work in the United States.
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent work experience.
- Ability to obtain and maintain Nevada Gaming Control Board registration and other required licenses or certifications.
- At least 3 years of Information Technology experience and 4 years across the software development lifecycle.
- At least 4 years implementing systems with Microsoft technologies and frameworks, including SQL Server, ASP.NET MVC, WCF, Entity Framework, and ASP.NET Web API; Java experience is also required.
- At least 3 years of object-oriented design and standard design patterns.
- At least 2 years using data modeling, process modeling, UML, data flow diagrams, BPR, or CPI techniques.
- Experience with test-driven development, CRUD operations, stored procedures, queries, triggers, normalization, referential integrity, and indexing.
- Experience with Git, SVN, VSS, or TFS and tools such as JIRA or Jenkins.
- Knowledge of secure coding practices and ITIL processes.
- Strong analytical, interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively, including varied shifts, weekends, and holidays.
