Senior Mechanical Engineer

Location: Onsite with Hybrid Flexibility
Job Type: Contract (6 Months with Potential Extension)
Pay Rate: $50.00 - $55.00 per hour

About the Opportunity
Our client is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join their engineering team supporting the design, development, and integration of heavy-duty vehicle components and systems. This role is ideal for an engineer with strong CAD experience who enjoys solving complex technical challenges while collaborating across engineering, manufacturing, and supplier teams.

This position offers the opportunity to contribute to new product development, support existing vehicle platforms, and work on innovative engineering projects in a collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and improve mechanical components and systems for heavy-duty vehicles.
  • Perform engineering calculations, analyses, investigations, and design evaluations.
  • Support the development and integration of components into both new and existing vehicle platforms.
  • Prepare engineering drawings, layouts, specifications, and bills of materials.
  • Evaluate designs for performance, reliability, manufacturability, and safety.
  • Analyze engineering issues and provide technical solutions for production and field support.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, suppliers, and internal stakeholders throughout project development.
  • Support multiple engineering projects while maintaining quality and schedule commitments.
  • Prepare technical reports, proposals, presentations, and project documentation.
  • Mentor junior engineers, designers, and technicians as needed.
  • Ensure engineering standards, drawing practices, and company procedures are consistently followed.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical field.
  • Three (3) or more years of engineering experience.
  • Experience using Creo CAD.
  • Mechanical, electrical, or software engineering support experience.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
  • Mechanical design experience within automotive, heavy-duty vehicle, or related industries.
  • Experience with advanced CAD systems.
  • Windchill Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) experience.
  • Background supporting military or weapons systems.
  • Experience with robotics, electrification, or other complex engineering environments.
