    Description

    Advantech is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer with a focus on RISC-based computing platforms. This role combines hands‑on circuit design support, system validation, and customer‑facing technical support. This role is well suited for an engineer who demonstrates initiative, effectively manages competing priorities, and can identify and resolve issues during product validation.ResponsibilitiesSupport the integration, design, and validation of system architectures, interfaces, and electrical circuits for RISC‑based embedded computing platforms.Collaborate with software and firmware developers throughout system developmentProvide pre‑sales and post‑sales technical support, including feasibility testing, data measurements, technical responses to customer bids, RMA verification, and on‑site technical trainingAssess customer technical requirements, develop solutions, perform system testing, and support installation in customer environmentsBuild hardware and software demonstration prototypes to support sales and marketing efforts, including rapid prototyping and system integrationAddress field issues and coordinate with field sales personnelAbility to occasionally lift and carry moderate‑weight equipment and work for extended periods while sitting, standing, or walking, with or without reasonable accommodation.Qualifications7+ years of experience with RISC and x86 hardware design, installation, and troubleshootingStrong understanding of RISC‑based (e.g., Arm) computing architecturesAbility to use a multimeter, oscilloscope, and other standard electronic troubleshooting equipmentAbility to read and troubleshoot mechanical drawings, schematics, and PCB circuitsExperience with application coding using industry‑standard languages such as C is a plusFamiliarity with Linux environmentsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsPreferred QualificationsBachelor's degree in electrical engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related fieldExperience with RISC‑V based designsExperience supporting customers in a technical pre‑sales or post‑sales capacityCompetitive salary dependent on experience (DOE)Winning culture with a friendly, team‑oriented environment!Generous benefits package including medical, dental, vision, long‑term disability, and life insurance.Employee Assistance Program (EAP)401(k) with company matchGenerous vacation and paid holidays packageCompany events, and lunchesReferral BonusWork AuthorizationTo conform to U.S. Government export regulations (ITAR), applicant must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8.
