The Building People, LLC, has a position open for a Senior Engineer with an active Secret Clearance supporting facilities planning, infrastructure evaluation, facility condition assessments, building automation systems, and campus modernization initiatives for our federal client
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct technical assessments of facility infrastructure, including mechanical, electrical, civil, and structural systems.
• Evaluate existing site conditions and provide recommendations for improvements, repairs, and compliance with codes.
• Develop engineering designs, specifications, and plans for new construction, renovations, and modernization projects.
• Integrate building automation and energy systems into campus operations.
• Prepare technical reports, cost estimates, and presentations for stakeholders.
• Support facility condition assessments and functional testing of critical systems.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, including ADA, fire/life safety, and environmental standards.
• Collaborate with other team members to support master planning and space utilization.
Experience/Skills:
• Active Secret Clearance
• The Engineer must have hands-on experience with Federal facilities projects, preferably in a campus environment, Operation & Maintenance, daily operations and implementing and managing multiple concurrent projects.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in federal facility engineering or architectural projects.
• Proficiency in facility condition assessments, design guidance, and troubleshooting.
• Strong communication and team collaboration skills.
• Knowledge of federal regulations, codes, and standards (ADA, fire/life safety, environmental).
• Experience with campus operations and maintenance requirements.
Education Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, or related field) from an accredited institution required.
• Advanced degree preferred for Senior Engineer.
• Professional licensure (e.g., Professional Engineer (PE)) required
