The Senior Engineering Designer should have a detailed and proven track record successfully completing the layout of Digital and RF CCA's. Experience implementing 10+ multi-layer, low loss, spread glass, state-of-the-art high-speed PCBs with experience designing with large FPGAs, state-of-the-art microprocessors, 10 to 25Gbps differential signaling. DDR-3/4/5 memory, Flash memory, PCIe-3/4/5, Ethernet 10/100/1000, USB 2.0/3.0, SD card, RS-232, RS-422, I2C, SPI interfaces including features like UARTs, audio, video, GPS, etc. A knowledge of switching and linear power supplies is preferred. Low inductance/across frequency PDN design knowledge is a must. This engineer should be very familiar with high-speed channel tuning and simulation (i.e., via impedance tuning, press-fit connector attach impedance tuning and crosstalk minimization, precision many / multi-depth via back-drill technology, all aspects of 3D interconnect channel design and analysis).

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• In-depth experience with design, analysis, testing, and documentation of state-of-the-art Circuit Card Assemblies (CCA).

• In-depth experience with schematic design using Altium Designer.

• Specifies highly optimized PCB stackups based on the latest low loss materials and glass styles.

• Supports the development circuit, component, subsystem, and equipment interfaces and procurement specifications.
• Supports the design of digital, analog or radio frequency circuits, components, and subsystems.

• Follows and creates detailed and comprehensive electrical layout rules based on proven statistically significant empirical data.
• Prepares design specifications, analyses and recommendations.
• Recommends test control, strategies, apparatus and equipment.
• Supports the interfaces with customers, suppliers, and contractors.
• Supports the evaluation of vendor capabilities to provide required products or services.
• Conducts in-house SI/PI design reviews and technical meetings.
• Monitors project status and progress.
• Keeps abreast of improvements in electronic engineering SI/PI techniques.

• Assists in routine and regular SI/PI team up-level training.
• Support prototype construction, debug, and tests.
• May provide technical direction and guidance to Design Engineers, Technicians, or Design Support personnel assigned to work on a common project.

Minimum Job Requirements:

Four-year college degree in Electrical Engineering, plus 5 years of related experience, or an applicable Master's degree with 3 years of related experience. Demonstrated experience in the digital systems engineering role performing requirements derivation/analysis and leading technical efforts to develop, test, and deliver systems which meet customer requirements. Experience developing digital system(s) through the systems engineering process. Effective written and oral communication skills. Ability to use personal computer software such as spreadsheets and word processing programs and requirement management database tool. Experience with PLM tools, such as ARAS, is highly desirable. Mental ability to perform engineering problem solving and analytical tasks. Must be able to work under project deadlines and associated cost and schedule constraints. Must be able to obtain a Security Clearance.
