Senior Engineering Manager
Direct Hire Onsite City of Industry
W2 Only (No Sponsorship/C2C)
We're looking for a Senior Engineering Manager to lead a growing team of software engineers responsible for customer-facing digital platforms and internal business applications. This is an opportunity for a hands-on technical leader who enjoys developing people, improving engineering processes, and partnering with executive leadership to build high-performing teams.
In this role, you'll help shape engineering strategy while creating an environment where engineers can do their best work. You'll work closely with Product and Digital leadership, providing technical guidance, driving operational improvements, and fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of software engineers through coaching, feedback, and career development.
- Improve engineering processes, team effectiveness, and delivery while promoting a positive team culture.
- Provide technical leadership through architecture discussions, code reviews, and engineering best practices.
- Partner with Product and cross-functional stakeholders to prioritize work and deliver business value.
- Drive continuous improvement across engineering operations, workflows, and Agile practices.
- Communicate effectively with both technical teams and executive leadership.
- Identify opportunities to improve team performance, collaboration, and overall engineering maturity.
Qualifications
- 7+ years of software engineering experience with at least 3 years leading engineering teams.
- Proven success managing and developing high-performing engineering organizations.
- Strong technical background with the ability to influence architecture and technical decision-making.
- Experience leading Agile software development teams.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills with the ability to collaborate across all levels of the organization.
- Experience in eCommerce, retail technology, digital platforms, or internal business applications.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Shopify or other modern eCommerce platforms.
- Knowledge of AI tools and strategies that improve engineering productivity.
- Experience supporting internal enterprise applications or business systems.
- Background leading organizational change, improving engineering culture, or scaling software teams.
