Overview:
The Senior Engineering Manager serves as a client-facing engineering leader responsible for the successful delivery of multidisciplinary projects for within ENERCON’s matrixed organization. This role works with the division director to provide technical leadership, project oversight, and client engagement, while coordinating closely with a centralized Design Organization that provides engineering resources, staff management, and professional development.
Senior Engineering Managers ensure safe, high-quality project execution, help drive the division’s business growth, and maintain strong client relationships while leading project-based teams composed of matrixed engineering personnel.
Responsibilities:
Project Delivery & Execution
- Lead the execution of engineering projects to meet scope, schedule, budget, and quality objectives
- Define and manage project scope, deliverables, and execution strategy in coordination with Project/Program Managers
- Direct multidisciplinary teams of matrixed engineering resources assigned to projects
- Ensure integration and coordination across all engineering disciplines
Technical Leadership
- Provide technical direction and oversight across assigned projects
- Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and regulatory requirements
- Serve as the responsible engineering authority for project technical decisions
- Drive resolution of complex technical challenges
Client Engagement & Business Development
- Act as a primary client interface for engineering execution and technical matters
- Build and maintain strong client relationships and trust
- Support proposal development, scope definition, and technical positioning
- Identify opportunities for repeat business and growth
Matrix Team Leadership
- Lead and coordinate project-assigned engineering teams within a matrixed structure
- Collaborate with Design Organization leadership on staffing, resource planning, and technical capability alignment
- Provide project-specific direction, feedback, and performance input on assigned personnel
- Foster a collaborative, high-performing project team environment
Quality & Continuous Improvement
- Ensure adherence to ENERCON’s quality assurance and engineering processes
- Promote continuous improvement and lessons learned across projects
- Drive consistency in engineering execution and deliverables
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (any discipline); advanced degree preferred
- Professional Engineer (PE) license required
- 10+ years of engineering experience, including project leadership
- Demonstrated experience in:
- Engineering project execution
- Client relationship management
- Leading multidisciplinary teams in a matrixed environment
- Strong knowledge of applicable industry codes, standards, and regulations
- Technical leadership and decision-making

Pay Range:
USD $158,000.00 - USD $220,000.00 /Yr.
