We are looking for passionate, driven individuals to join our team focused on delivering solutions and improving lives.NV5 is seeking a Senior Engineering Technician for our Charlotte, NC location, also open to those in Fayetteville, NC; Rocky Mount, NC; and Burlington, NC. Responsibilities include monitoring activities on construction sites and performing testing of soils, concrete, and asphalt pavement materials. A company truck, phone, and safety equipment will be provided at our office.ResponsibilitiesPerforms In-Place Density Tests using nuclear density gauge, drive sleeve, or sand cone method.Aggregate Sampling. Concrete/Grout/Masonry sampling (including air content; slump testing; visual observations; casting samples of concrete cylinders, mortar cubes, and grout prisms; and obtaining core samples).May perform asphalt sampling, backscatter tests, and coring.Work subject to outside environmental conditions, including weather such as wet, humid, extreme cold, heat, dusty, and noisy work environments.Work primarily in the field involving long‑term standing and frequent walking; includes common hazards at construction and project sites.Must be able to carry, lift and push/pull up to 50 pounds frequently and up to 100 pounds occasionally.Must be able to walk over rough and uneven terrain and be able to stand up to 10 hours a day occasionally.Must have the ability to see, smell, hear, talk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel and twist, crouch, crawl, reach, grasp, sit, stand, and walk.Weekend and overtime work and/or overnight work and travel may be required.Additional physical duties may be required, as necessary.QualificationsMinimum 2 years experience.Basic math and writing skills.Strong work ethic.Team player.A valid driver's license with an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) is required.Offer is contingent on background report.Requires a high school diploma or equivalent.NV5 offers a competitive compensation and benefits package including medical, dental, life insurance, PTO, 401(k) and professional development/advancement opportunities.NV5 provides equal employment opportunities (EEO) to all applicants for employment without regard to race, color, religion, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, creed, citizenship status, ancestry, pregnancy, childbirth or related medical conditions, national origin, age, disability, genetic information, marital status, amnesty, or status as a covered veteran in accordance with applicable federal, state and local laws.
