As the Senior Engineering Technician, the candidate will be an integral part of our design and engineering team, contributing to the development of innovative and high-quality products. You will utilize your knowledge of computer-aided design (CAD) and PCB software to create detailed technical drawings and models, supporting the engineering process from concept to production. This role provides an excellent opportunity to grow and develop your skills in a collaborative and dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities

Design and Drafting:
 
  • Work closely with engineers for design, building, and testing solutions to different technical problems, including but not limited to mechanical, electrical, electronic RF devices and systems.
  •  Create detailed 2D and 3D CAD drawings and PCB design software to develop models based on project specifications and requirements and implement feedback from engineers.
  •  Assist in the development of new product designs and modifications to existing products.
  •  As a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in CAD drafting process, will oversee the drafting process, ensure all designs comply with industry standards and company guidelines, lead drafting team in producing high quality technical drawings and designs, and provide guidance and support to team members.
Collaboration:
  • Work closely with senior engineers and other team members to understand project requirements and objectives to validate designs, procedures, and processes to meet customer specifications and requirements. 
  • Participate in design reviews and provide constructive feedback.
  •   Oversee the daily operations of the drafting team, ensuring timely and accurate completion of projects.
  •   Assist in project planning and scheduling to ensure efficient resource allocation and project timelines are met.
  • Collaborate with the manufacturing team to ensure designs are feasible and cost-effective.
Documentation:
  •  Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation for all design projects.
  • Generate and update Bill of Materials (BOMs) and other technical documentation.
  • Prepare and revise drawings as needed to reflect changes in design.
  •  Conduct research, collect and analyze data, interpret results and writes reports.
  •    ATP’s and Datasheets creation and configurations.
  •   Work with the engineering and sales team on part numbering assignment.
  •    Work with the engineering team on preservation and maintenance of the digital library.
Quality Assurance:
  •  Conduct preliminary checks on designs to identify potential issues and ensure accuracy. Inspect and modify existing designs and prototypes. 
  • Support quality control processes by providing necessary documentation and design specifications.
  •  Assist in troubleshooting and resolving design-related issues during the production process.
  •   Manage, mentor, and support the drafting team, providing training and development opportunities to enhance their skills.
Continuous Improvement:
  •  Stay updated with the latest CAD and PCB software developments and industry trends.
  •  Seek opportunities to improve design processes and increase efficiency.
  •  Participate in training and professional development activities to enhance skills.
Comunication
  •    Strong ability to understand and teach technical procedures.
  •    Adhere to organizational and departmental policies and procedures  
  •  Communicate project status, risks, and issues to stakeholders in  a timely manner.
  •  Attending meetings and providing input and updates

·         Essential functions:
  • o    Attendance at work and punctuality are essential functions of this position.
  • o    Attention to detail.
  • o    Basic math skills.
  • o    CONUS and OCONUS travel may be required
  • o    USA citizen or permanent resident
  • o    Valid driver’s license
  • o    Use of databases and software (Quantum, Microsoft Office 365, NSN-Now, BidLink)

Requirements:

·         Associate degree in the similar field especially in Engineering Technology
