About the Role

COMPANY is seeking a Senior Engineering Technician to support multidisciplinary project teams within the Distributed Infrastructure Market Sector. This role focuses on electrical substation (Grid) projects, producing high‑quality 2D/3D engineering deliverables that support critical power infrastructure nationwide.

As part of the Virtual Design & Data Solutions (VDDS) team, you will apply advanced technical expertise to create, modify, and manage complex electrical design drawings using tools such as Autodesk 3D AutoCAD, Bentley 3D MicroStation, and other CAD/BIM platforms.

Job Summary

  • Serves as a senior engineering technician, technical design specialist, and/or supervisor

  • Applies advanced technical expertise to resolve complex design challenges

  • Contributes to innovative engineering solutions and digital design improvements

  • Uses CAD/BIM/3D modeling tools to create, modify, and maintain technical drawings and project documentation

Key Responsibilities

  • Establish and communicate design and graphic standards

  • Review project requirements to determine correct formats and deliverable content

  • Promote quality and consistency across projects and teams

  • Review design inputs for accuracy, alignment, and completeness

  • Ensure deliverables comply with applicable codes, standards, and COMPANY procedures

  • Manage drawing control and documentation workflows

  • Apply engineering principles and established design practices to complex electrical designs

  • Perform design calculations, material quantity takeoffs, estimates, and supporting documentation

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate Degree in Drafting or Engineering Design‑Related Technology required

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering Design‑Related Technology preferred

Minimum Qualifications

  • 11+ years of related engineering technician or electrical drafting experience

  • Ability to complete all pre‑employment onboarding requirements, which may include:

    • Criminal/civil background check

    • Drug screening

    • Motor vehicle records search
