Position Summary:

Odyssey Systems has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Enterprise Architect supporting the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center’s C3I and Infrastructure Division (AFLCMC/HNI) within the Cloud One environment at Hanscom Air Force Base, Bedford, MA. HNI delivers enterprise support to over 110 active Air Force, Air National Guard, and Air Force Reserve installations and bases, providing technical and policy support, as well as C3I infrastructure for USAF enterprise applications.

Responsibilities:

In this Advisory and Assistance Services (A&AS) role, you will provide expert-level support to Department of Defense (DoD) programs by assisting government leadership with decision-making, planning, and execution throughout the acquisition lifecycle. You will apply your technical and/or professional expertise to ensure compliance with applicable policies and regulations, contribute to mission success, and help deliver critical capabilities to the warfighter.

 

Duties include, but not limited to: 

  • Develop reference models of the enterprise and maintain the information in the IT repository
  • Determine gaps between current and target architectures and recommend plans for transitioning to the target architecture
  • Recommend policies and principles to guide technology decisions for the enterprise architecture
  • Identify opportunities to improve enterprise-level systems to support business processes and utilize emerging technologies
  • Promote and educate customers and stakeholders on the use and value of enterprise architecture
  • Provide enterprise architecture guidance, support, and coordination to customers and IT project teams
  • Document the enterprise architecture infrastructure, including business units and key processes, using modeling techniques
  • Ensure technical integration is achieved across the enterprise by participating in test planning, validation, and reviews
  • Evaluate the impact of enterprise architecture products and services on IT investments, business operations, stakeholder satisfaction, and other outcomes
  • Coordinate and conduct governance and portfolio management activities to ensure compliance with the enterprise architecture
  • Ensure the rigorous application of information security and cybersecurity policies, principles, and practices to all components of the enterprise architecture
Qualifications:

Citizenship: Must be a US citizen

 

Minimum Required Qualifications
Clearance: Must have and be able to maintain an Active Secret clearance
Education: Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) and 15 years of Relevant Experience in the respective technical/professional discipline being performed, of which 5 years must be in the DoD, OR

    • 20 years of directly related experience with proper certifications (8 within DoD)
  • 3 to 5 years of experience designing, testing, and securing cloud environments for an enterprise operation
  • Expert-level knowledge of cloud tools and services to maximize performance and minimize cost for the enterprise (experience with more than one commercial cloud is a bonus)
  • Experience standing up new cloud environments and establishing guardrails
  • Experience working within a DevSecOps approach to development
  • Solid understanding of cybersecurity
  • Experience implementing Zero Trust segmentation
  • Solid understanding of networking concepts (boundaries, VPCs, bastion hosts, firewalls)

Preferred Qualifications
Education: Master’s degree in a related field

  • Experience with Gov cloud environments and FedRAMP products and services
  • Experience with migrating applications to cloud

Technical Skills

  • Enterprise architecture analysis, planning, and design
  • Development of enterprise reference models and architecture documentation
  • Gap analysis and transition planning from current to target architectures
  • Governance and portfolio management in support of enterprise architecture compliance
  • Technical integration support, including participation in test planning and validation activities
  • Application of cybersecurity policies and principles across enterprise architecture

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
