OVERVIEW:
The Senior Federated Data Operations Professional will serve as a strategic partner to business leaders to ensure enterprise data program initiatives are aligned with business priorities and delivering measurable value. This role is responsible for proactively identifying engagement opportunities, emerging needs, and strategic challenges across multiple business lines, translating them into actionable data-related solutions that drive business outcomes.
As a key member of the Enterprise Data team, this individual will oversee engagement activities spanning federated data roles across the organization. The successful candidate will act as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders, ensuring the bank focuses on the highest-value opportunities while fostering strong partnerships between business and data teams.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Serve as the primary engagement lead and strategic partner for assigned business lines
- Build and maintain strong relationships with senior business stakeholders to understand objectives, priorities, pain points, and emerging opportunities.
- Drive proactive engagement strategies that anticipate business needs
- Establish and maintain a holistic view of demand, capacity, and priorities across federated data roles.
- Monitor program health, business outcomes, data management standards, and stakeholder satisfaction, ensuring initiatives deliver measurable results.
- Champion continuous improvement and help elevate the organization's engagement model, driving greater strategic influence and enterprise impact.
- Communicate program status, risks, opportunities, and recommendations effectively to leadership audiences.
- Promote an environment that supports belonging and reflects the M&T Bank brand.
- Maintain M&T internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators as applicable.
- Complete other related duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
- Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 5 years related experience, or in lieu of a degree, a combined minimum of 9 years higher education and/ or work experience, including a minimum of 5 years related experience
- Experience building trusted relationships and influencing decisions across business, data, and technology organizations at senior levels.
- Ability to balance competing priorities and drive alignment across diverse stakeholder groups
- Intermediate knowledge of data management concepts, terminology, roles, and responsibilities
IDEAL QUALIFICATIONS PREFERRED:
- Familiarity with the data life cycle, system development lifecycle, and strategic planning and resourcing processes
- Experience in at least one programing language or analytical/statistical tools and using data to draw conclusions
- Experience developing and/or implementing data management and/or data governance policy and standards
- Experience in financial industry

M&T Bank is committed to fair, competitive, and market-informed pay for our employees. The pay range for this position is $103,000.00 - $171,600.00 Annual (USD). The successful candidate's particular combination of knowledge, skills, and experience will inform their specific compensation.
