The Epic Business Intelligence Developer partners with business stakeholders to transform healthcare data into actionable insights that drive operational and strategic decision-making. This role develops reporting, analytics, dashboards, and data solutions utilizing Epic reporting platforms and healthcare data sources.

The ideal candidate will possess strong Epic reporting expertise, advanced SQL and programming skills, healthcare analytics experience, and the ability to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions. This individual will work closely with Business Intelligence Developers, Data Engineers, Data Scientists, and business stakeholders to design, develop, and support enterprise reporting and analytics solutions.

Required Certifications

Candidates must possess the following Epic certifications:

  • Cogito Fundamentals
  • Clarity Data Model
  • Caboodle Data Model

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, deploy, document, and maintain reporting and analytics solutions.
  • Develop self-service reporting assets, dashboards, visualizations, and automated reporting processes.
  • Gather business requirements and translate them into technical specifications and reporting solutions.
  • Develop reporting and analytics using Epic reporting tools and databases including Clarity, Caboodle, Epic Registries, Radar, and other Epic data assets.
  • Build and maintain data sources, metrics, dashboards, and automated reporting solutions.
  • Provide advanced analytics that support business operations, quality improvement initiatives, and strategic decision-making.
  • Partner with stakeholders to identify reporting needs and present technical solutions.
  • Support ETL processes and data warehouse initiatives.
  • Troubleshoot, maintain, and support reporting applications and data assets.
  • Collaborate with Data Engineers, Data Scientists, and Data Architects to ensure reporting solutions align with enterprise data strategy.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to planning, development, and delivery activities.
  • Mentor and provide guidance to less experienced Business Intelligence Developers.
  • Promote data literacy by educating end users on reporting tools and analytics capabilities.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, Information Systems, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in business intelligence, analytics, reporting development, or related disciplines.
  • Epic certifications in:
    • Cogito Fundamentals
    • Clarity Data Model
    • Caboodle Data Model
  • Strong programming and reporting development experience.
  • Experience gathering business requirements and translating them into technical solutions.
  • Advanced understanding of healthcare data, reporting, analytics, and operational workflows.
  • Experience working with electronic health records (EHR), claims data, or healthcare data environments.
  • Strong SQL development and data analysis skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with technical and business stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Tableau experience.
  • Power BI experience.
  • Experience with Snowflake.
  • Experience with ETL processes and data warehouse environments.
  • Experience working within Agile development teams.
