    Position Summary

A global leader in compound semiconductor and photonics technology is seeking a Senior Epitaxial Sustaining Engineer to support high-volume MOCVD production of advanced InP and GaAs optoelectronic devices.

This role is focused on sustaining engineering, production support, and continuous process improvement within a 24/7 manufacturing environment. Working closely with Manufacturing, Process Engineering, and Product teams, you'll analyze epitaxial characterization data, optimize production recipes, improve yield, and ensure stable, repeatable manufacturing performance.

The ideal candidate enjoys solving manufacturing challenges, working with statistical process control, and driving continuous improvement in a fast-paced semiconductor fabrication environment.

    What You'll Do

    • Support day-to-day MOCVD production by maintaining and optimizing epitaxial growth recipes

    • Analyze characterization data and adjust production recipes to maximize yield, throughput, and process stability

    • Evaluate epitaxial wafers using SIMS, HRXRD, XRD, ECV, photoluminescence (PL), reflectance, Surfscan, and optical inspection techniques

    • Utilize SPC, DOE, JMP, and statistical methods to monitor process health and identify improvement opportunities

    • Troubleshoot process excursions, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions

    • Partner with Manufacturing, Process Engineering, and Product teams to improve production performance

    • Support process qualification, documentation, and manufacturing compliance

    • Present process improvement recommendations and technical findings to cross-functional engineering teams

    What You Bring

    • M.S. in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical discipline (or equivalent experience)

    • 5+ years of experience with MOCVD crystal growth of InP, GaAs, or other III-V compound semiconductor materials

    • Experience supporting high-volume semiconductor manufacturing operations

    • Strong understanding of epitaxial characterization techniques including SIMS, HRXRD, XRD, ECV, PL, and reflectance

    • Knowledge of SPC, DOE, Gage studies, statistical process control, and JMP

    • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills

    • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with cross-functional engineering teams

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Experience supporting sustaining engineering within a semiconductor manufacturing environment

    • Background in yield improvement, process optimization, and manufacturing process control

    • Experience with compound semiconductor lasers, photodiodes, EMLs, DMLs, VCSELs, or related optoelectronic devices

    • Familiarity with cleanroom manufacturing and wafer fabrication environments

    • Experience supporting 24/7 production operations

    Why This Opportunity

    • Play a critical role in supporting one of the industry's leading InP technology platforms

    • Drive manufacturing yield, process stability, and continuous improvement for advanced photonics products

    • Work alongside experienced epitaxy, device, and manufacturing engineers

    • Exposure to cutting-edge technologies supporting AI infrastructure, optical networking, and next-generation datacenter applications

    • Collaborative engineering environment with strong technical mentorship and career growth opportunities

    • Competitive compensation, annual bonus opportunity, and comprehensive benefits
