Senior Equal Opportunity Advisor - Human Resources

Position Summary:
The Senior Equal Opportunity Advisor is responsible for implementing university programs and policies for compliance related to Federal and State regulations such as Title IX, Title VII, ADA, and the Clery Act.
Position Key Accountabilities:

• Receive, review, and investigate complaints under Title IX, Title VII, the ADA, and all other applicable Federal and State regulations. Writes reports in accordance with university policy and procedure.
• Facilitate, implement, and document the interactive process related to disability or religious accommodation requests from employees, applicants for employment, students, applicants for admissions, and other university community members in accordance with university policy and procedure.
• Provide guidance and counseling to employees, applicants for employment, students, applicants for admission, and other university community members as appropriate regarding university policies. Maintains confidentiality at all times.
• Stay abreast of changes in state and federal laws, regulations, and guidelines related to Title IX, Title VII, and ADA. Identify best practices and proactively recommend changes to policies to ensure institutional compliance with changing regulatory requirements and guidance with Federal and State regulations.
• Creates and provides training to various populations across the university community.
• Partner with department management teams and human resources functions to ensure Federal and State regulations compliance. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with all levels of management and staff to promote the university as an employer of choice.
• Assist in the development of the university's annual affirmative action plan(s) in accordance with Federal and State regulations, in coordination with appropriate university leadership, development of action-oriented programs related to federal requirements. Assess and report on the effectiveness of developed programs.
• Assists in developing and implementing metrics to measure the effectiveness of strategic efforts.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Education:

• Bachelor's Degree required
• Master's Degree in a relevant discipline preferred Doctorate Degree from an accredited law school preferred

Minimum Experience:

• 7 years related experience required
• Prior experience developing conducting Title IX/Title VII investigations, advising on employment or equal opportunity matters preferred
• May substitute required experience with equivalent years of education beyond the minimum education requirement.

Physical Requirements:

Exerts up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds frequently and/or a negligible amount constantly to move objects.

This position is a security-sensitive position pursuant to Texas Education Code §51.215 and Texas Government Code §411.094. To the extent that a position requires the holder to research, work on, or have access to critical infrastructure as defined in Texas Business and Commerce Code §117.001(2), the ability to maintain the security or integrity of the infrastructure is a minimum qualification to be hired for and to continue to be employed in that position. Personnel in such positions, and similarly situated state contractors, will be routinely reviewed to determine whether things such as criminal history or continuous connections to the government or political apparatus of a foreign adversary might prevent the applicant, employee, or contractor from being able to maintain the security or integrity of the infrastructure. Residency Requirement:

Employees must permanently reside and work in the State of Texas.
