Haselden Construction is looking for a Senior Estimator to join our Preconstruction team. This role is responsible for leading and developing project estimates, supporting project pursuits, partnering with clients and design teams, and helping guide projects from early budgeting through final buy-out.

Job Summary:
As a Senior Estimator, you will lead the overall project estimate while working closely with the Preconstruction Manager, clients, architects, engineers, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal operations teams.
  • Support business development and project acquisition efforts, including budgeting, pre-planning, interviews, RFP support, pre-proposal meetings, and site visits.
  • Lead and participate in preconstruction meetings, charrettes, workshops, and client budget presentations.
  • Manage and track multiple preconstruction projects at once, including preconstruction and design schedules.
  • Prepare estimates at all design stages, including Conceptual, Schematic Design, Design Development, and Construction Documents.
  • Perform quantity take-offs and estimate costs for materials, labor, equipment, general requirements, and scope gaps.
  • Analyze construction documents, specifications, proposals, and subcontractor/supplier bids.
  • Support system analysis of building components and MEP systems, including managing MEP estimating coordination on smaller projects.
  • Help lead the Pursue, Plan & Execute process with operations teams to review plans, specifications, constructability, and general requirements.
  • Identify and price value engineering and budget trending opportunities.
  • Coordinate with self-perform estimating teams and operations to evaluate appropriate trades, production rates, manpower availability, and contract requirements.
  • Manage subcontractor solicitation, bid coverage, bid packages, bid forms, and bid review.
  • Assist with subcontractor prequalification and ensure selected subcontractors have the appropriate experience and financial capability.
  • Administer buy-out, including subcontract negotiations, awards, scope exhibits, and handoff to operations.
  • Help maintain estimating cost databases.
  • Mentor and train Project Estimators, Estimators, and Preconstruction Engineers.
  • Build and maintain relationships with owners, design teams, subcontractors, suppliers, and industry partners.
Job Requirements:
  • 5–7 years of estimating experience.
  • Previous General Contractor experience required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Architectural Engineering, Construction, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience will also be considered.
  • Experience with CM/GC, CMaR, Design-Build, and large, complex competitive bid projects.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret commercial construction documents, specifications, technical procedures, and governmental regulations.
  • Strong estimating, budgeting, quantity take-off, and scope review skills.
  • Ability to present technical information clearly to clients, managers, design teams, vendors, and internal project teams.
  • Strong problem-solving, mathematical, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with operations teams, owners, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers.
  • Presentation strengths for project pursuits and interviews.
  • Experience with the following tools is preferred, Destini Estimator, Procore, Join.Build, Bluebeam, On-Screen Takeoff, MS Teams, MS365, and Pantera. 
Salary: The salary range for this position is $110,000-$140,000 per year (base salary). Salary to be determined by education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, location where job is performed.
