Senior Estimator

Your Role

The Senior Estimator at WES Construction is a key role responsible for leading construction estimates from takeoff through bid submission. This is a hands on estimating position where you will take-off and price work, in addition to reaching out to subs and vendors for pricing. This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing team at a stable company with over 75 years in business. This role will report directly to company ownership.

Responsibilities

As Senior Estimator at WES Construction Corp., your responsibilities will include:

• Perform highly accurate quantity take-offs for all material, labor, and equipment across civil, structural, and architectural drawings
• Review plans and specifications to ensure thorough coverage and identify areas of risk and opportunity
• Solicit and review bids from material suppliers and subcontractors
• Partner with ownership to compile and review bid forms primarily for public infrastructure projects
• Participate in pre-construction planning and hand-off of project to project manager

We Are Seeking a Candidate With

• A minimum of 10 years estimating experience in self-perform site and utility work and/or water and wastewater
• Experience completing lump sum and unit price bids with solid understanding of bid forms and public bidding processes
• Proficient at on-screen takeoff with ProEst, Insite, or similar software
• Strong understanding of plans and specs with ability to visualize the work and accurately anticipate costs
• Ability to multi-task and work on multiple bids simultaneously
• Attention to detail
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Experience estimating for a union contractor is a plus
• Strong network of subcontractors and vendors is a plus
