We are seeking an experienced Senior Construction Estimator to lead the estimating function for commercial projects across NYC. This role is critical to our preconstruction efforts and requires deep knowledge of NYC construction costs, subcontractor markets, and commercial building systems. The ideal candidate is both highly technical and collaborative, with the ability to accurately price work while contributing strategic insight during preconstruction.Client DetailsOur client is a boutique New York City-based general contractor specializing in high-quality commercial construction projects, including corporate interiors, retail, hospitality, and specialty build-outs. Known for our collaborative approach, precision, and attention to detail, we partner closely with architects, designers, and clients to deliver complex projects in demanding urban environments.DescriptionLead detailed quantity takeoffs and prepare comprehensive cost estimates for commercial projectsDevelop conceptual, schematic, design development, and GMP budgetsSolicit, analyze, and level subcontractor and supplier bidsMaintain and strengthen relationships with NYC-area subcontractors and vendorsIdentify scope gaps, risks, and cost-saving opportunities during preconstructionCollaborate closely with project management, operations, and leadership teamsParticipate in client and architect meetings to support budgeting and value engineeringPrepare bid packages, clarifications, and scopes of workTrack historical cost data and continuously refine pricing accuracyAssist with project buyout, contract reviews, and change order pricing as neededMPI does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, marital status, or based on an individual's status in any group or class protected by applicable federal, state or local law.
