Amazon is looking for a Senior Export Compliance Manager who will be responsible for supporting our global export compliance program and drive export control initiatives, implementations, and help scale solutions. As part of the Global Export Compliance team, this role will engage with different business stakeholders to understand and improve export governance, processes, and mechanisms across Amazon and build upon global export standards. The successful candidate will support various aspects of export governance, risk management, and regulatory compliance (regulatory engagement and advocacy) program and other strategic projects by working with internal business units and be an innovative compliance leader experienced in diving deep into complex problems and collaborate effectively to solve problems and develop requirements for new compliance solutions. The candidate will leverage strong subject matter expertise, a passion for new challenges, be creative, self-directed and a great team player. Candidates should drive continuous process improvement, and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. The candidate must possess strong analytical skills and be comfortable working autonomously in a highly demanding and often ambiguous environment. The position requires an individual with strong attention to detail and exceptional organizational skills. You will act as a leader who can prioritize well, communicate clearly, and have a consistent track record of delivery. You can handle multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment. Key job responsibilities - Provide high judgment and subject matter expertise on US and non-US export control regulations including the Export Administration Regulations (EAR) and the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) - Develop and maintain the regulatory contacts, engagement, and risk assessment program - Drive innovative solutions and create requirements to further enhance and automate compliance for different types of exports - Apply US & non-US export control regulations and drive continuous improvements - Monitor regulatory changes and support public policy engagements - Create metrics for management reporting - Own leadership communications to stakeholder teams and executive leadership Basic Qualifications - 6+ years of compliance, audit or risk management experience - 5+ years of program or project Management experience - Knowledge of Microsoft Office products and applications at an advanced level - Bachelor's degree or equivalent - Subject matter expertise on US and non-US export control regulations including the Export Administration Regulations (EAR) and the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) Preferred Qualifications - Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent certification - Experience leveraging technology and implementing lean principles / Six Sigma methodologies to drive process improvements or equivalent - Master's degree or equivalent - Experience with non-US export regulations(EU, APAC) Amazon is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of protected veteran status, disability, or other legally protected status. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
