    POSITION IN A NUTSHELLSciens Building Solutions is seeking an experienced, reliable, and highly skilled Senior Fire Alarm/Low Voltage Installer to join our growing team of professionals. The installer will perform routine installation and checkout on a variety of systems utilizing codes, company procedures, engineering drawings, and personnel analysis. Develops a positive interface with the customer to ensure confidence and satisfaction with the system installation.  

    WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING (and doing well!)  

    • Take ownership of onsite projects including safety, quality, and performance.
    • Train, mentor, and lead team members and jobs.
    • Install commercial & industrial 3-phase electrical power systems.  
    • Install all types of electrical conduit.  
    • Complete paperwork, including but not limited to onsite documentation and maintenance of as built drawings.  
    • Responsible for ensuring all employees embrace our safety culture and comply with all safety initiatives. 
    • Demonstrate a high level of oral and written communication, coordinates with other departments, and general contractors with little supervision.
    • Comply with standards and procedures of industry and Sciens safety programs/policies.  

    WHAT WE LIKE ABOUT YOU.  

    • Minimum three (3) years’ experience in fire alarm, voice/data, and security installation
    • Solid working knowledge of commercial electrical systems.
    • Advanced ability to read blueprints, technical drawings, diagrams, and make recommendations based on field conditions.
    • Advanced installation knowledge run wire, wire devices, fish walls and doors.
    • Advanced knowledge of NFPA 70 & NFPA 72 installation requirements.   
    • You demonstrate a high level of oral and written communication; coordinates with other departments, and GCs with little supervision.
    • Knowledge of OSHA safety standards and able to obtain OSHA 10 certification.
    • Ability to learn and safely use standard trade tools.
    • Ability to work under tight deadlines and with a sense of urgency.
    • Ability to work independently with some supervision. 
    • Knowledge of OSHA safety standards and able to obtain OSHA 10 certification.
    • Customer-focused; skilled in project and people management. 
    • Proficient in issue resolution. 
    • Excellent organizational, decision-making, and communication skills. 
    • Be physically fit to perform the demanding work of the trade, including frequent lifting of up to 25 pounds, maximum occasional lifting up to 50 pounds; able to work from heights and climb ladders; standing and walking for most of the workday. 
    • Ability to travel occasionally overnight, as needed. 
    • Valid driver’s license & reliable transportation.
