Senior Fabric, Trim & Embellishment Buyer

 An established Los Angeles apparel team is seeking a highly organized and proactive Fabric, Trim & Embellishment Buyer to lead sourcing and purchasing operations across production. This role is critical to keeping production calendars on track, managing vendor relationships, and ensuring materials arrive on time and within budget.

The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced fashion environment, understands the urgency of apparel production timelines, and brings strong communication, negotiation, and follow-through skills. Enthusiasm, accountability, and the ability to lead sourcing operations independently are essential for success in this position. IN OFFICE MONDAY - FRIDAY 

RESPONSIBILITES

• Source and purchase fabrics, trims, embroideries, labels, zippers, buttons, and other garment components
• Build and maintain strong relationships with domestic and overseas vendors
• Negotiate pricing, lead times, minimums, and delivery schedules to improve margins and production efficiency
• Issue and manage purchase orders while tracking deliveries and resolving delays proactively
• Partner closely with design, development, and production teams to align sourcing with seasonal calendars
• Approve lab dips, strike-offs, trim submissions, and bulk quality standards
• Monitor inventory levels and anticipate production needs before shortages occur
• Troubleshoot sourcing and delivery issues quickly to keep production running smoothly
• Maintain accurate costing and vendor records

REQUIREMENTS 

• 2–5+ years of experience in apparel sourcing, buying, or production purchasing
• Strong understanding of garment construction, fabrications, trims, and embellishments
• Experience managing production calendars and working against tight deadlines
• Knowledge of sourcing logistics, tariffs, and vendor negotiations
• Excellent communication and follow-up skills
• Highly organized with strong attention to detail and urgency
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced apparel environment
• Experience working with Los Angeles apparel production teams preferred
