We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-driven Senior Facilities Electrical Engineer to lead the design, development, and optimization of electrical systems supporting critical facility operations at our HQS site. This role is pivotal in ensuring the reliability, safety, and efficiency of all electrical infrastructure, while driving strategic improvements and maintaining compliance with regulatory standards.

As a technical authority, you will collaborate across operations, maintenance, and engineering teams to deliver innovative solutions, guide capital projects, and uphold best practices in electrical design and maintenance.

We are able to sponsor the clearance process for qualified candidates; however, our preference is to onboard individuals who already hold an active clearance at any level. This role supports a TS/SCI with Polygraph, and Leidos can maintain that clearance for the position.

This role may be eligible for a sign-on incentive, which could include additional PTO or a monetary bonus.

Lead the research, design, detailing, and installation support of facility electrical systems.

Partner with Operations & Maintenance (O&M) and Plant teams to ensure robust emergency preparedness.

Drive preventive and corrective maintenance strategies for electrical systems.

Conduct infrastructure assessments and recommend capital improvements based on current and future needs.

Oversee electrical components of construction and renovation projects from concept through completion.

Develop and implement maintenance policies, standards, and procedures aligned with industry best practices.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams and external vendors to ensure seamless service delivery.

Establish and refine design standards and site-specific operating procedures.

Create, review, and update electrical design documentation, submittals, and one-line diagrams.

Perform redline updates and maintain accurate site drawings.

Basic Qualifications

Ability to obtain a Top Secret/SCI with Polygraph clearance.

8-12 years of progressive experience in electrical engineering.

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.

Proven expertise in complex electrical system design, development, and testing.

Strong background in power distribution, lighting, and control systems.

Deep knowledge of commercial electrical codes and standards (e.g., NEC).

Proficiency in AutoCAD and other CAD tools.

Familiarity with energy-efficient and sustainable design principles.

Experience with medium voltage systems, backup generators, UPS, data centers, and lighting controls.

Ability to solve complex, cross-disciplinary technical challenges.

Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage senior leadership and customers.

Hands-on experience with industrial control systems, PLCs, and instrumentation.

Preferred Qualifications

Any level of active clearance.

An active Top Secret/SCI with Polygraph.

Recognized Subject Matter Expert (SME) in electrical engineering.

PE (Professional Engineer) certification.

Field experience in electrical construction, systems integration, and testing.

Strong project management skills including budgeting, scheduling, and resource planning.

Experience with reactive maintenance in building electrical systems.

This role offers the opportunity to make a lasting impact on mission-critical infrastructure while working alongside a team of dedicated professionals. If youre ready to lead with precision and purpose, we invite you to apply.

At Leidos, we don't want someone who "fits the mold"-we want someone who melts it down and builds something better. This is a role for the restless, the over-caffeinated, the ones who ask, "what's next?" before the dust settles on "what's now."

If you're already scheming step 20 while everyone else is still debating step 2… good. You'll fit right in.

Original Posting: January 12, 2026

For U.S. Positions: While subject to change based on business needs, Leidos reasonably anticipates that this job requisition will remain open for at least 3 days with an anticipated close date of no earlier than 3 days after the original posting date as listed above.

Pay Range: Pay Range $107,900.00 - $195,050.00

The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
