Data Center Operations

7+ Years Critical Infrastructure · 10+ Years Management

Role Overview

Under the direction of the Regional Operations Director, oversee the daily operation of data centers and associated critical infrastructure by managing internal and external resources. The Senior Facility Manager will manage the relationship with the third-party facility management provider within the region, ensure facilities operate within mandated procedures and standards, and lead the implementation process for all customer orders and build-outs.

Essential Job Functions

Environmental & Operations

  • Manage day-to-day operations through daily coordination with on-site engineering teams.
  • Oversee preventative and corrective maintenance programs for the region.
  • Direct site teams on incident and issue resolution.
  • Maintain Operations Policies, Procedures, and Guidelines.
  • Manage all vendor relationships within the data centers.

People & Team Management

  • Coordinate staff recognition, reviews, career development, and corrective actions.
  • Identify and coordinate staff training and re-training needs.
  • Direct and manage work groups across the region.

Asset & Capacity Management

  • Manage asset tracking processes and systems; produce asset reports for customers and internal teams.
  • Maintain current and future capacity threshold reporting across all facility systems.

Customer Support

  • Act as single point of contact for local customer teams on day-to-day issues.
  • Lead facility tours for new customer deals and support the sales organization.
  • Review customer contracts and represent the client on customer audits.
  • Ensure on-time, quality delivery of customer orders and build-outs.

Reporting & Compliance

  • Manage all internal and external monthly reporting for the region.
  • Coordinate with Accounting, Finance, EH&S, Compliance, Security, and Energy Management.
  • Maintain SOX audit documentation and all certification records.
  • Execute Business Continuity Planning and maintain the Facility Operations Handbook.

Budgeting & Forecasting

  • Manage OPEX for the region in line with developed budgets.
  • Create CAPEX plans for equipment maintenance and replacement.

Minimum Requirements

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to direct and manage work groups effectively.

Excellent organizational and time management skills.

Strong customer service skills with a customer-first mentality.

Ability to develop, document, and train personnel on procedures.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office.

Ability to work well under pressure and manage multiple concurrent priorities.

Willingness to be onsite for extended hours during emergency situations.

Experience & Education

7+ years of experience managing and maintaining critical infrastructure, preferably in a data center environment.

10+ years of supervisory or personnel management experience preferred.

Bachelor's Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or related field (equivalent work experience may be substituted).

Must be able to lift 50 lbs and be available for after-hours work needs.
