Position Summary
The Senior Facilities Technician is responsible for the maintenance, repair, and optimization of various building systems to ensure the efficient operation of facilities. Key responsibilities include mentoring of technicians, coordinating maintenance schedules, conducting inspections, troubleshooting equipment malfunctions, and implementing preventive measures to ensure compliance with safety regulations and enhance operational efficiency. The ideal candidate will possess experience in HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems, along with strong communication, and problem-solving skills to effectively manage facilities and support the organization's objectives.
Job Responsibilities
Conducts periodic systems maintenance inspections and provides for the completion of preventative and corrective actions for building equipment.
Maintenance and repair of the facility; including performing routine maintenance duties such as shelving / cabinetry installation; furniture moves, drywall patching / painting, and minor office modifications.
Coordinate internal staff moves within the assigned locations.
Operate and maintain critical equipment including plumbing, HVAC, security, lighting, electrical and cabling to efficiently service the needs and growth of the organization.
Develops, implements, and reviews equipment and maintenance procedures associated with building facilities.
Comply with departmental policy for the safe storage, usage, and disposal of hazardous materials. Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
Responsible for overseeing janitorial services and upkeep of the facility under the guidance of the Facilities Sr. Manager.
Interface with Property Management Company's Building Engineer to ensure all work that is done by the building owner is completed satisfactorily.
Coordinate with contractors for scheduling work, i.e. schedule preventative maintenance and coordinate contractors for response to emergency repair of equipment.
Responsible for overseeing the activities of contractors associated with facilities operations.
Ensure proper invoicing, payment of janitorial, maintenance, and repair-related vendors and verify proper completion of the work, along with proper documentation deliverables.
Assist with safety inspections and, along with Facilities Department, see that all facility safety issues are corrected. May be required to test facilities safety apparatuses such as fire extinguishers, emergency lighting, safety shower / eyewashes- and update safety logs monthly.
Performs repairs to office space including repairs to plumbing and carpentry.
Documents all work in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
Required Qualifications
High School diploma or GED
5 years of related work experience.
Building Management System (BMS) operation.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word, Excel, Outlook, and general working knowledge of Internet for business use.

Preferred Qualifications
EPA CFC Universal Certificate.
Facilities experience in critical environments such as clean rooms and or within the life sciences industry.
Physical Demands
Must possess ability to sit, stand, and/or work at a computer for long periods of time.
May have exposure to blood-borne pathogens, extreme temperatures, high noise levels, fumes and bio-hazardous material/chemical including formalin in the lab environment.
Must possess ability to perform repetitive motion.
Ability to lift up to 30 pounds.
Training
All job specific, safety, and compliance training are assigned based on the job functions associated with this employee.
Other
This position requires periodic travel and some evenings, weekends and/or holidays.
Job may require after-hours response to emergency issues.
Periodically scheduled on-call may require after-hours response for technical emergencies not explicitly related to assigned job responsibilities.
At times may be required to work weekends/holidays.
