Our client is a leading engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) firm specializing in oil & gas, natural gas transmission, LNG, renewable natural gas (RNG), compression, pipeline, and energy infrastructure projects. The company is known for delivering innovative engineering solutions and complex facility projects that support critical energy systems throughout North America. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced engineer to take a technical leadership role on major energy infrastructure projects while working alongside multidisciplinary teams and industry experts.Position SummaryThe Senior Facility Engineer is responsible for leading the engineering and design of natural gas, LNG, RNG, compression, pipeline, and related energy infrastructure facilities. This role provides technical expertise throughout all phases of project development, including conceptual design, detailed engineering, procurement support, construction support, and project execution. The successful candidate will serve as a technical leader, support project planning and execution, mentor engineering staff, and collaborate closely with clients, vendors, and project stakeholders to deliver successful project outcomes.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop engineering specifications, calculations, drawings, and design packages for assigned projectsEstablish project objectives, deliverables, schedules, and responsibilities by coordinating with project managers, program managers, clients, and stakeholdersLead engineering and design efforts for: gas compression facilities, liquefied natural gas (LNG) facilities, renewable natural gas (RNG) facilities, liquid pump stations, gas processing facilities, dehydration facilities, heater and filter separator systems, oil & gas pipelines, pipeline metering facilities, slug catchersDevelop scopes of work for engineering services, equipment procurement, materials, and construction activitiesEvaluate vendor proposals and provide technical recommendations for equipment and contractor selectionReview vendor drawings and submittals to ensure compliance with project specifications, codes, standards, and best practicesPerform and review engineering calculations, including pipe sizing, valve sizing, hydraulic analysis, hydrostatic testing design, compressor design, pump designPrepare equipment specifications, data sheets, and material requirementsSupport engineering manhour estimates, project proposals, and project cost estimatesMonitor project scope, schedule, and deliverables to ensure successful project executionEnsure compliance with client requirements, safety standards, company policies, and regulatory requirementsLead multidisciplinary engineering teams and coordinate efforts with engineering contractors and consultantsLead procurement activities, including technical bid evaluations and equipment recommendationsParticipate in field engineering efforts, client meetings, and project site visitsDelegate engineering tasks and provide technical guidance to project teamsReview and redline engineering drawings, including process flow diagrams (PFDs), piping & instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), site plans, general arrangement drawingsCoordinate with designers and drafters to develop and advance drawing packagesMentor junior engineers and provide technical training within the engineering disciplinePresent technical findings, recommendations, and engineering solutions to clients and company leadershipServe as a subject matter expert (SME) within one or more areas of engineering specializationRequired QualificationsBachelor of Science degree in Engineering (Mechanical Engineering preferred)Professional Engineer (PE) license requiredMinimum of 7 years of professional engineering experienceMinimum of 5 years of experience within the oil & gas, utility, midstream, or energy infrastructure industryMinimum of 5 years of experience working with turbomachinery equipment, including compressors and turbinesExperience leading engineering projects and multidisciplinary teamsStrong understanding of facility design and engineering for energy infrastructure projectsExperience supporting procurement, equipment selection, and vendor management activitiesAbility to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environmentTechnical RequirementsThorough knowledge of process flow diagrams (PFDs), piping & instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), piping drawings, isometric fabrication drawings, bills of materials (BOMs), general arrangement drawingsStrong knowledge of industry codes and standards, including ASME, ANSI, API, NFPA, CSA, ASME B31.3, ASME B31.4, ASME B31.8, 49 CFR Parts 192 and 195Ability to perform complex engineering calculations and technical analysisStrong understanding of engineering design methodologies, project execution strategies, and industry best practicesPreferred QualificationsExperience supporting LNG, RNG, gas processing, compression, or midstream facility projectsExperience serving as a technical lead or subject matter expert (SME)Experience providing field engineering support during construction and commissioningPrevious project engineering or project management experienceExperience working directly with clients, regulatory agencies, and permitting organizationsExcellent written, verbal, organizational, and communication skillsWhy Join Our Client?Our client is a respected EPC organization with a strong reputation for delivering innovative and technically challenging energy infrastructure projects.
