Senior Family Law Attorney

Our well-established family law practice in Rockville, MD is seeking an experienced Family Law Attorney with 2–10+ years of litigation and case-handling experience to join our team. This role is ideal for a lawyer who is comfortable managing a full caseload, appearing in court, and developing strong client relationships. The position offers a hybrid work arrangement with flexibility and autonomy.

Key Responsibilities

• Independently manage a diverse family law caseload, including:
• Divorce (contested and uncontested)
• Custody and visitation
• Child support and spousal support
• Property distribution and marital asset issues
• Protective orders and related family matters
• Draft and review pleadings, motions, settlement agreements, discovery responses, and financial documents.
• Conduct legal research and develop case strategy with minimal supervision.
• Represent clients in hearings, mediations, settlement conferences, and trial.
• Maintain regular communication with clients and ensure exceptional client service.
• Collaborate with paralegals, support staff, and fellow attorneys to move cases efficiently.
• Participate in business development activities as desired (optional but beneficial).

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
• Active membership in the Maryland Bar (DC or VA admission a plus).
• 2-10 years experience, including courtroom litigation.
• Strong drafting, negotiation, and advocacy skills.
• Ability to manage deadlines and competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Professional, empathetic, and client-focused demeanor.
• Experience handling complex financial matters or high-asset cases is preferred but not required.
