Senior Fiber Optics & Structured Cabling Crew Lead

Talent Clout is seeking a hands-on leader for an immediate contract in St. Charles Parish, Louisiana. Step into a role where you guide the work and stay on the tools—owning fiber optic and copper cabling installs, solving field challenges, and keeping a fast-moving project safe and on schedule.

A day in this role

You arrive on site, huddle with Level 1 and Level 2 technicians, review the plan and safety priorities, and assign tasks. With drawings and schematics in hand, you map the routes, coordinate material pulls, and target approximately 30 drops per day. You lead by example—pulling, dressing, labeling, installing, and terminating fiber and copper—as you troubleshoot equipment or installation issues, coach junior techs, and update site contacts on progress. Throughout the day, you safeguard quality, maintain tools, and keep the schedule moving.

Core responsibilities

• Lead and direct Level 1 and Level 2 technicians on daily job-site activities.
• Assign tasks, monitor progress, and ensure work is completed safely and efficiently.
• Pull, route, label, dress, and install fiber optic and copper cabling.
• Perform and oversee cable installation and termination.
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, schematics, and technical documentation.
• Help ensure the team completes approximately 30 drops per day.
• Troubleshoot equipment, electrical, mechanical, and installation-related issues.
• Use and maintain tools and equipment required for cable pulling and installation.
• Coordinate daily priorities and keep the project on schedule.
• Provide hands-on guidance and training to junior technicians.
• Communicate professionally with site contacts regarding work progress and technical issues.
• Maintain high standards for safety, quality, and workmanship.

What you bring

• Background as a Lead Technician, Senior Technician, Lead Installer, Crew Lead, or similar.
• Strong hands-on experience with fiber optic and copper cabling.
• Proven skill in pulling, routing, installing, labeling, and terminating cabling.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
• Solid troubleshooting ability.
• Experience leading, training, or directing other technicians.
• Comfort in a fast-paced, hands-on field environment.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
