Our client is seeking an experienced Large Loss Field Property Claims Specialist to handle complex Homeowners and Commercial Property claims while serving as a trusted resource for policyholders, agents, and business partners throughout the claims process.
This is an excellent opportunity for a property claims professional who enjoys solving complex losses, making sound coverage and settlement decisions, and taking ownership of a diverse portfolio of high exposure claims while continuing to grow within a respected claims organization. This is a fully remote position but must reside in Ohio.
Responsibilities
- Investigate, evaluate, and resolve large loss first-party property claims involving Homeowners, Commercial Property, Condominium, Rental Property, and Business Owners Policy (BOP) exposures.
- Handle losses including fire, water, wind, hail, hurricane, tornado, theft, vandalism, collapse, smoke, lightning, freeze, and catastrophe-related claims.
- Conduct on-site inspections to assess damages, determine scope of loss, and identify coverage issues.
- Review policy language and determine coverage based on policy provisions, endorsements, exclusions, and applicable state regulations.
- Prepare detailed estimates or review contractor and independent adjuster estimates using Xactimate.
- Coordinate inspections with engineers, building consultants, accountants, restoration contractors, mitigation companies, and other experts as needed.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of property claims experience with an insurance carrier.
- Minimum 3 years handling large loss or complex property claims.
- Experience handling both Homeowners and Commercial Property claims from first notice of loss through resolution.
- Strong knowledge of property insurance coverage, estimating, building construction, and claim investigation techniques.
- Experience handling claims exceeding $100,000, with exposure to losses of $1 million or greater
- Experience managing litigated claims and working with attorneys, engineers, and public adjusters.
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Xactimate Level 2 or higher preferred.
- Industry designations such as AIC, CPCU, SCLA, or AINS are a plus.
- Experience with Guidewire ClaimCenter or similar claims management platforms.
- Prior catastrophe (CAT) claims experience preferred
Salary & Benefits
- $110,000 - $130,000+ (based on experience) plus 10-20% annual bonus
