Senior Field Service Mechanic — Hydraulics & Powertrain

Lead complex mobile repairs for critical fleets in the Converse / San Antonio, TX market with Transwest Mobile.

Your impact

• Minimize downtime for contractors, municipalities, and fleet operators across Texas.
• Set the technical standard in diesel, hydraulic, and electrical system diagnostics.
• Coach emerging technicians and elevate team performance.

Core responsibilities

• Advanced troubleshooting and repair of heavy‑duty engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems (CAN bus, ECM), plus medium/light‑duty platforms.
• Engine overhauls and rebuilds executed with precision.
• Use of advanced diagnostic software, tools, and OEM service information.
• Crane operation and use of specialized equipment for complex maintenance tasks.
• Customer communication: diagnostics reporting and service recommendations.
• Accurate documentation of all work performed.
• Process improvement and strict adherence to safety and performance standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• 5–10+ years in heavy equipment, diesel, or hydraulic repair.
• Expert knowledge across electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical domains.
• Proficiency with CAN bus/ECM diagnostics and complex repair strategies.
• Full professional toolset for field service.
• Strong organization; able to work independently in high‑pressure scenarios.
• Valid driver’s license; comfortable operating a company vehicle.
• Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work indoors/outdoors.

Preferred

• ASE T2–T8 certifications or Master Diesel Technician.
• Lead tech, supervisory, or shop management background.
• Demonstrated field service/mobile repair expertise with strong customer engagement.
