Senior Field Service Technician | Louisville, KY

As a Senior Field Service Technician, you'll work at customer sites helping inspect, diagnose, maintain, repair, and support critical water treatment and process equipment. Every day brings something different, whether it's resolving a mechanical issue, supporting a customer, or helping keep essential operations running safely and efficiently.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Perform field service activities at customer locations safely and efficiently.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, HVAC, plumbing, and light electrical equipment issues.
  • Diagnose equipment conditions and recommend solutions.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and repair activities.
  • Support water treatment and process equipment operations.
  • Identify and correct safety concerns on customer and company-owned equipment.
  • Interact directly with customers to provide technical support and service.
  • Work across multiple customer sites and technologies.
  • Maintain company equipment, tools, inventory, and vehicles.
  • Follow all safety procedures and company standards.
  • Support a positive customer experience and represent Xylem professionally in the field.
  • Collaborate with teammates and internal support groups to resolve customer issues.

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to meet company driving requirements.
  • Ability to obtain customer clearances as required (TWIC, DISA, etc.).
  • Customer service experience.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office and smart devices.
  • Strong troubleshooting and critical-thinking skills.
  • Ability to operate a company vehicle.

Preferred Qualifications

  • HVAC experience.
  • Light plumbing experience.
  • Light electrical troubleshooting experience.
  • Controls experience is a plus.
  • Water treatment or wastewater experience is a plus.
  • Previous field service experience.
  • Experience working with industrial or commercial equipment.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude.

Travel Requirements

This position primarily supports customers throughout the Louisville territory.

Overnight travel is very limited and typically represents 20% or less per quarter.

Most travel is local, allowing technicians to return home daily.

Overtime opportunities are available based on customer needs and business demands.

Compensation: The estimated pay range for this position is $30-$33 per hour, depending on skills and experience. Starting pay is determined by several factors, including relevant experience, technical expertise, certifications, and overall qualifications.
