About us:In 2016, the Commonwealth of Virginia selected a Cintra-led consortium to finance, design, build, operate and maintain the express lanes on Interstate 66 Outside the Beltway. The project will transform this critical Northern Virginia artery to relieve congestion, improve safety and provide more predictable travel times. The project corridor extends approximately 22 miles along Interstate 66 from the Capital Beltway (I-495) to Gainesville (US Route 29). Once completed, the project will include three toll-free general-purpose lanes in each direction and two express lanes in each direction with a state-of-the-art open-road electronic toll collection system. Expanded transit service, park-and-ride lots and interchange enhancements will further improve travel along I-66. The project will also connect several shared use paths to create more multimodal options. As an innovative and efficient public-private partnership, this project will be completed at a $2.5 billion net savings for the Commonwealth of Virginia.

Job Description:The Senior Field System Network Architect is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the architecture of field system networks supporting the I-66 Express Mobility Partners concession. This role ensures seamless integration of IT infrastructure, communications, and operational technologies across hybrid environments. The position focuses on reliability, scalability, and security of systems, while driving innovation through cloud migration, emerging technologies, and process optimization.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
System Architecture & Design- Develop and maintain architectural frameworks for cloud and hybrid environments.
- Ensure system compatibility and integration across platforms (Field Systems, Back Office, ATMS, TSM).
- Design scalable infrastructure to support business growth and remote workforce models.
Operations & Maintenance- Oversee day-to-day operations, preventive and corrective maintenance of IT infrastructure, servers, fiber networks, and roadside systems.
- Support and monitor all aspects of system operations, maintenance, reliability, testing, rollout, upgrades, and general administration for the I-66 concession, including data centers, communications, hardware, software, and the TMC.
- Coordinate with third-party contractors, licenses, and support contracts, while building internal capabilities to reduce dependency on external system integrators.
Compliance, Monitoring & Analysis- Monitor and report compliance with Service Level Agreements (SLA) and Key Performance Indicators (KPI).
- Conduct evaluative testing, audits, and variance analyses for capacity planning.
- Analyze system data and trends to identify inefficiencies, propose enhancements, and proactively manage storage architecture, capacity, and response times.
Process Improvement & Troubleshooting- Drive improvements in tolling and ITS processes to reduce leakage and enhance performance.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex system issues using standardized procedures.
- Execute system and process improvements, including managing system parameter configuration and collaborating with vendors as needed.
- Review, update, and help produce department procedures related to the scope.
Business Continuity & Disaster Recovery- Implement and secure business continuity and disaster recovery plans for all critical systems and operations.
Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities):
Education & Experience:- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Network Engineering, or related field.
- 4+ years of experience in IT architecture, network systems, and infrastructure design.
