The Finance General team manages the planning and direction of finance process and activities. Activities include the efficient operation and cost-effectiveness of operating systems and programs.

This role in summary

Whirlpool is seeking a Senior Finance Manager, Category Business Units to join the Commercial Finance Team, North America Region (NAR). This person will be the lead of the NAR Business Unit Categories and Capital and Engineering finance teams. This includes setting the finance strategy for investments and capital allocation, supporting business case analysis for our long-term Category strategies with full P&L ownership both operational and strategic, and providing full P&L support for category leadership.

He/she will also partner with the US category marketing team to develop and execute the Category strategy for the U.S. Core business, and act as a liaison between commercial and cost finance teams. There is plenty of variety in this role. Today, you will work on driving high visibility and trade-off decisions on investment analysis balanced with shaping capital allocation strategy. Tomorrow, you might be working cross-functionally on the Commercial Business Planning roadmap.

This role is a fully in-office role, Monday through Friday, and is located at our Riverview Campus in Benton Harbor, Michigan. A comprehensive relocation package is available for eligible candidates.

Your responsibilities will include

• Partner with business leaders to lead and drive product investments processes and decisions focused on maximizing profitable growth across the NAR Business Unit

• Act as coach to direct reports and extended team members

• Develop Category Long Range Plans and annual plan targets in line with Long term value creation goals

• Connect Category Business teams for data-driven forecast adjustments and planning decisions for both operational decisions with the cost P&L drivers and commercial strategic decisions driving top-line growth

• Partner with NAR finance peers and global peers to share & adopt best practices across One Finance.

• Strategic leader of the Category, you will lead the North America product investment strategy and full P&L ownership, transforming complex data, from price/volume/mix to macro headwinds, into the definitive performance narrative that drives senior leadership decisions.

Minimum requirements

• Bachelor''s degree or Master''s degree in Finance, Accounting or a related field

• 7+ years of experience in Finance or Accounting

• MBA

• Business Acumen: Uses extensive knowledge and insight about the business to fully engage in business discussions to maximize shareholder value.

• Strategic Partner: Develops effective relationships with finance and cross-functional partners by building trust, leveraging networks, applying financial expertise, and measuring and driving business results

• Coach: Uses coaching and development skills to successfully develop team members and coach for high performance

• Continuous Improvement / Lean: Applies lean thinking to streamline finance processes enabling the team to focus on business partnering and impacting future outcomes.

• Communication: Exhibits effective communication skills across all levels of leadership.
