My client is a well-established, family-owned business with over a century of success in the edible oils industry. They are looking for a motivated Senior Financial Analyst who thrives in a dynamic environment, enjoys tackling challenges, and brings a proactive, team-oriented approach.

Description

  • Develop, maintain, and improve financial models focused on overhead expenses, manufacturing performance, and company-wide strategic initiatives.
  • Support annual budgeting cycles and ongoing forecasting activities across multiple business functions.
  • Identify financial risks, operational inefficiencies, and cost-saving opportunities through data-driven analysis, while tracking and validating realized savings.
  • Monitor and report on the financial performance of the Operations Group, including Manufacturing, Warehousing, Distribution, Inventory Management, and Supply Chain functions.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Operations, Supply Chain, Sales, and other departments to provide financial insights, scenario modeling, and strategic decision support.
  • Analyze sales trends, variances, and performance metrics to deliver actionable recommendations that drive business results.
  • Review and analyze bills of materials (BOMs) to ensure accurate product costing and standard cost integrity.
  • Evaluate manufacturing and operational KPIs to identify opportunities for efficiency improvements and reduction of recurring losses.
  • Manage and enhance financial and sales reporting processes, including dashboards and reporting tools such as Excel, Power BI, and planning systems.
  • Support the transition toward more automated, streamlined, and real-time reporting capabilities.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives related to reporting, internal controls, data accuracy, and financial processes.
  • Participate in annual and semi-annual physical inventory counts, reconciliations, and related inventory control activities.
  • Prepare ad hoc financial analyses, reports, and special project support for the Director of Finance and executive leadership team.

Profile

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
  • 5-10 years of experience in financial analysis, preferably within a manufacturing or operations-focused environment.
  • Strong expertise in financial modeling, budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and performance reporting.
  • Advanced Excel proficiency, including experience working with large datasets, complex formulas, pivot tables, lookups, and analytical tools.
  • Solid understanding of manufacturing operations and their financial impact on business performance.
  • Excellent analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving capabilities with strong attention to detail.
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to present complex financial information clearly to cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, PowerPoint, Access, and Outlook.
  • Experience developing dashboards and reports using Power BI or similar business intelligence tools.
  • Working knowledge of ERP systems and financial reporting platforms.
  • Strong understanding of inventory management, product costing, and operational performance metrics within a manufacturing environment.
  • Highly organized and self-motivated, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting.
  • Collaborative team player with strong cross-functional partnership and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing effectively across departments and business functions.
  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies is considered an asset.
