Job Summary

This role will focus on delivering in-depth financial analysis and investigative insights to support strategic decision-making across our distribution business. The position will concentrate on building and enhancing reporting frameworks, ensuring accurate monthly results, developing robust forecasting models, and clearly narrating actual and forecasted business performance. The role will also provide actionable, forward-looking recommendations to improve future business performance. In addition, this position will support new business initiatives, system integrations, and other changes impacting the FP&A function, ensuring data-driven solutions and continuous process improvement.

Job Description

Job Responsibilities:

  • Build and enhance reporting materials, dashboards, forecasting models, and ad hoc analyses to deliver accurate, insightful decision support and improve business performance.

  • Analyze monthly and quarterly financial results, trends, and metrics; prepare monthly financial review materials and clearly communicate full P&L drivers, results, and actionable insights to business leadership.

  • Support new business initiatives, system integrations, and major changes through detailed analysis and data-driven recommendations.

  • Collaborate with business partners to identify trends and opportunities that drive profitability; own scenario analysis to support negotiations with vendors.

  • Own the preparation of analytically driven journal entries and internal controls, applying strong judgment and financial understanding to ensure entries reflect true business performance.

  • Serve as a resource for special projects within the team and act as backup to the Manager when needed.

Minimum Job Requirements:

Education

  • High school diploma

Relevant Work Experience

  • At least 3 years of financial planning, reporting and/or analysis experience.

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (including PowerPivot, PowerQuery, pivot tables, financial modeling)

  • Experience working with an ERP system – SAP experience is a plus.

Additional

  • Willing to travel for business purposes (within state and out of state).  

Preferred Job Qualifications:

Education

  • Bachelor's degree

  • MBA

Relevant Work Experience

  • At least 2 years of experience providing financial advice and counsel to P&L/business owners

  • Proven ability to manage multiple workstreams and automate reporting processes

  • Experience in working with complex data

  • Help in strategic decision making and goal setting initiatives through data analysis

  • Experience of building, automating and working with complex data

The anticipated salary range for this position:

$85,000.00 - $128,000.00 Annual

The actual salary will vary based on applicant’s location, education, experience, skills, and abilities. This role is bonus and/or incentive eligible. Medline will not pay less than the applicable minimum wage or salary threshold.
