The Opportunity
Our client, a well-established global organization, is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to join its team in Naperville, IL. This is a 17-month contract opportunity offering a hybrid work environment and the chance to play an important role in financial planning, forecasting, profitability analysis, and commercial decision support.
In this position, you'll work closely with Sales, Commercial Strategy, and Finance teams to turn financial and business data into clear, actionable insights. You'll help evaluate customer performance, manage forecasts, analyze investments, identify risks and opportunities, and provide recommendations that support profitable growth.
This opportunity is well suited for a finance professional who enjoys going beyond the numbers-someone who can dig into performance drivers, build thoughtful financial models, communicate findings clearly, and partner effectively with stakeholders across the business.
Responsibilities
- Lead customer-level forecasts across sales, volume, trade spend, and profitability.
- Analyze monthly financial and business performance against plan, forecast, and prior-year results.
- Identify financial risks, opportunities, trends, and performance drivers and communicate actionable recommendations.
- Evaluate promotional spending, customer investments, and trade programs to assess effectiveness and maximize return on investment.
- Perform customer P&L and profitability analysis and recommend opportunities to improve financial performance.
- Support annual planning, quarterly forecasting, and monthly financial close activities.
- Develop financial models and scenario analyses to support strategic and commercial business decisions.
- Partner cross-functionally with Sales, Commercial Strategy, Revenue Growth Management, and Finance teams.
- Translate complex financial information into clear insights for business stakeholders.
- Develop and maintain financial reports, dashboards, and analytical tools.
- Identify opportunities to automate reporting, streamline financial processes, and improve analytical efficiency.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives across financial planning and reporting processes.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in Sales Finance, Commercial Finance, FP&A, Financial Planning & Analysis, or a related finance role.
- Strong financial analysis, forecasting, budgeting, and financial modeling skills.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Experience analyzing profitability, financial performance, and business drivers.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with SAP or similar ERP/financial systems.
- Experience with Power BI or comparable business intelligence and visualization tools.
- Experience supporting sales, commercial, customer finance, or revenue growth initiatives.
- Experience developing dashboards, automated reporting, or enhanced financial analytics.
- Background working within a large, complex, or global organization.
