    Description

    About the Role

This is a high-visibility, hands-on role for a strong early-career analyst looking for broad exposure and real ownership in a growing, PE-backed mechanical contracting company. You will work closely with finance leadership and senior management to build the financial infrastructure of the business from the ground up. You will own real, hands-on work from day one: maintaining the monthly private equity reporting package, supporting the development of branch-level financial scorecards, and building the analytical capabilities the business needs to make better decisions.

    What You'll Do

    Private Equity & Management Reporting

    • Maintain and update the monthly PE reporting package for our private equity sponsor, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and clear presentation of financial results
    • Prepare variance analysis and written commentary explaining key drivers of financial performance versus prior periods and budget
    • Support the preparation of management reporting packages for the CFO and senior leadership team

    Financial Planning & Analysis

    • Support the annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting processes, working across departments to gather inputs and build consolidated financial models
    • Develop and maintain branch-level financial scorecards that reflect performance across our core service lines
    • Analyze revenue, gross margin, and operational performance by branch and service line, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities
    • Support the development of reporting frameworks that bridge operational and GAAP-basis financial views

Ad Hoc Analysis & Special Projects

    • Conduct financial modeling and analysis in support of strategic decisions, including pricing, capital allocation, and operational initiatives
    • Support the build-out of more automated and systematic reporting processes as the finance function matures
    • Support other analytical projects as directed by finance leadership

    What We're Looking For

    Experience

    • 2+ years of experience in investment banking, management consulting, private equity, or a fast-paced corporate finance or FP&A role at a growth-oriented company
    • Direct experience preparing financial models, variance analyses, and executive-level reporting packages
    • Prior exposure to PE-backed environments, management reporting to sponsors, or multi-location businesses is a strong plus
    • Experience in construction, field services, or similar project-based industries is helpful but not required

    Skills & Capabilities

    • Advanced Excel proficiency, with the ability to build and maintain complex financial models independently
    • Strong analytical instincts and the ability to translate data into a clear narrative about business performance
    • Attention to detail and high standards for accuracy in a reporting environment where precision matters
    • Comfort working with large, imperfect datasets and the ability to build structured, reliable outputs from them
    • Familiarity with ERP systems or field service management platforms is a plus
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present financial information clearly to non-finance audiences

    Personal Attributes

    • A builder's mindset, motivated by the opportunity to create structure and process where there is currently whitespace
    • Comfortable with ambiguity and able to prioritize effectively in a fast-moving environment
    • Low ego, high output, willing to roll up their sleeves on execution while also contributing at a strategic level

    Why Join Us?

Direct access and exposure to senior leadership, PE sponsors, and strategic decision-making from day one

    • The opportunity to build something, as a foundational hire in a finance function that is being constructed rather than inherited
    • Competitive compensation commensurate with experience, plus benefits
    • New Orleans-based role with a stable, growing mechanical contracting company
