Job Description
Kforce's client, a mission-driven organization in NYC, is seeking a Senior Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) Analyst to support budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and long-range financial planning. This individual will partner closely with finance leadership and collaborate across multiple departments to provide strategic financial insights, manage grant-funded budgets, and support data-driven decision-making. This is an excellent opportunity for a highly analytical finance professional who enjoys working with large datasets, developing financial models, and partnering with business stakeholders to improve financial performance and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and manage grant and program-level budgets
- Support annual budgeting, quarterly forecasting, and multi-year financial planning activities
- Analyze budget-to-actual performance and provide actionable recommendations
- Prepare financial reports, dashboards, presentations, and variance analyses for leadership
- Monitor spending, cash flow, and funding utilization to ensure compliance with financial guidelines
- Maintain and enhance financial models, reporting tools, and forecasting methodologies
- Partner with departments across the organization to gather, validate, and analyze financial data
- Create ad hoc financial reports and analyses to support strategic initiatives
- Identify and implement process improvements within financial reporting and planning functions
- Provide analytical support related to billing operations and grant-funded programs
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field
- Minimum of 4 years of financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, or reporting experience
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with exceptional attention to detail
- Advanced Excel skills, including financial modeling, pivot tables, and complex formulas
- Experience working with large datasets and financial reporting tools
- Ability to communicate financial information effectively to non-financial stakeholders
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
- Experience within a nonprofit or grant-funded environment
- Knowledge of grants administration, contract funding, and billing practices
- Experience with NetSuite, Financial Edge, Vena Solutions, or similar financial systems
- Exposure to government-funded programs and compliance reporting
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
