Senior Financial Analyst

 Pay: $85k + DOE

 Hours: Full-time, Monday - Friday

Summary:  Our client is looking for a Senior Financial Analyst to join their finance team.  This role blends quantitative analysis with cross-functional partnership, driving the forecasting and strategic planning for the company.  Ideal for a finance professional with 2+ years of experience who is ready to step into their next role.

Job Responsibilities:

Month-End Close

  • Assist with month-end close activities for supply chain and manufacturing, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and close checklist tasks
  • Prepare accrual schedules (freight, utilities, temp labor, R&M, inbound/outbound logistics, etc.) with supporting documentation for review
  • Reconcile assigned inventory, WIP, and finished goods accounts; flag discrepancies for resolution
  • Pull data and prepare variance commentary on manufacturing and supply chain P&L lines against budget, forecast, and prior period

Work Order and Manufacturing Variances

  • Pull and analyze work order variance data daily and at close — material usage, labor, overhead absorption, and yield
  • Flag abnormal variances and prepare supporting detail for review
  • Coordinate with production, planning, and procurement to gather context on recurring variances
  • Help maintain standard cost data in NetSuite and support periodic standard cost rolls

Fixed Assets and Capital

  • Maintain the fixed asset sub-ledger, including additions, disposals, transfers, and monthly depreciation runs
  • Support capitalization of new equipment: gather capex documentation, confirm placed-in-service dates, and tag assets
  • Track capex spend against approved projects and prepare status reports
  • Participate in periodic fixed asset physical verifications

Financial Analysis

  • Build recurring reports on cost per case, COM, scrap and waste, freight, and other supply chain KPIs
  • Provide data and analysis to support the annual budget and periodic forecasts
  • Complete ad-hoc analyses for cost-savings initiatives, capital projects, sourcing changes, and process improvements
  • Respond to data requests from plant and supply chain leadership

Controls and Audit

  • Follow internal controls over manufacturing and supply chain accounting processes
  • Pull supporting documentation for internal and external audit requests
  • Suggest improvements to close and reporting processes

Job Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • 2-5 years of accounting or finance experience; manufacturing or supply chain exposure preferred
  • Exposure to standard costing and variance analysis a plus
  • Familiarity with fixed asset accounting concepts
  • Proficiency in Excel; experience with NetSuite or another ERP preferred
  • Working knowledge of NetSuite saved searches and SuiteAnalytics, preferred
  • Familiarity with USDA or FDA-regulated food manufacturing, preferred
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Comfortable on the plant floor — willing to walk the lines and ask questions
  • Solid communication skills; able to work cross-functionally with operators and finance peers

Benefits:

  • Pay: $85k-100k DOE plus bonus potential
  • Full benefit package including medical, dental, vision and life insurance, 401(k), PTO and more.  Employees are eligible for benefits the first of the month following the month of hire.
