The Senior Financial Controller will lead Nexorynt's accounting and financial reporting operations, ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant financial information across the organization.
This role will oversee the monthly close, financial statements, general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, internal controls, audit coordination, and accounting policies. The Controller will work closely with the CFO and other business leaders to improve financial processes, reporting quality, and operational efficiency.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on accounting leader who combines strong technical accounting knowledge with excellent analytical skills and a practical approach to process improvement.
What You Will DoLead the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close process and ensure timely reporting.
Oversee general ledger activity, journal entries, account reconciliations, accruals, prepaids, fixed assets, and intercompany transactions.
Prepare and review accurate GAAP-compliant financial statements and management reporting.
Establish and maintain strong accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing, collections, payroll accounting, and cash reconciliations.
Review financial transactions for accuracy, completeness, classification, and compliance with accounting policies.
Develop close calendars and continuously improve the speed and accuracy of the close process.
Prepare monthly financial packages and variance analysis for the CFO and executive leadership.
Partner with FP&A to reconcile financial reporting with budgets, forecasts, and business performance.
Manage external audit and tax relationships, including preparation of schedules, documentation, and supporting information.
Coordinate annual audits and ensure timely resolution of audit findings and recommendations.
Support tax compliance activities, including coordination with external tax advisors.
Maintain appropriate documentation for accounting policies, controls, and significant accounting judgments.
Monitor accounting standards and assess their impact on company operations and financial reporting.
Identify process gaps and implement automation to reduce manual accounting work and improve accuracy.
Help evaluate, implement, and optimize ERP and financial systems as the company scales.
Establish accounting KPIs and operational metrics to monitor finance team performance.
Partner with legal, operations, HR, sales, and other departments on accounting-related matters.
Support the CFO with financial analysis, strategic projects, financing activities, and other executive-level initiatives.
Hire, develop, mentor, and manage accounting professionals as the organization grows.
15+ years of progressive accounting and financial reporting experience.
Previous experience as a Senior Controller, Controller, Assistant Controller, Accounting Manager, or equivalent.
Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting requirements.
Demonstrated experience managing monthly and annual close processes.
Strong understanding of general ledger accounting, reconciliations, accruals, revenue, expenses, and financial statements.
Experience designing and maintaining effective internal controls.
Strong knowledge of balance sheet and income statement analysis.
Experience coordinating external audits and working with accounting and tax advisors.
Advanced Excel or Google Sheets skills with strong financial analysis capabilities.
Experience working with ERP and accounting platforms.
Strong attention to detail without losing sight of broader business objectives.
Excellent organizational and project-management skills.
Ability to prioritize competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to work independently in a remote environment.
High level of integrity, confidentiality, accountability, and professional judgment.
CPA certification strongly preferred.
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Master's degree or MBA is a plus.
Experience with technology, SaaS, or other high-growth businesses.
Experience in a venture-backed or rapidly scaling organization.
Experience implementing or upgrading ERP/accounting systems.
Experience with multi-entity accounting and consolidation.
Experience with revenue recognition under ASC 606.
Familiarity with ASC 842 lease accounting.
Experience with financial automation and accounting workflow optimization.
Experience managing or mentoring distributed accounting teams.
Experience with modern finance and accounting technology is preferred, including NetSuite, QuickBooks, Xero, Sage Intacct, Workday, Bill.com, Ramp, Brex, Stripe, Adaptive Planning, Anaplan, Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets, Power BI, Tableau, or comparable systems.
Experience integrating accounting systems with CRM, payroll, billing, payment, and operational platforms is highly valued.

Remote WorkThis is a fully remote U.S.-based position. The Senior Financial Controller will collaborate with the CFO, executive leadership, accounting team, and external financial partners through a distributed working environment.
