THE OPPORTUNITY
As a Senior Financial Operations Specialist with direct access to the CFO and the Director of Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A), you will be part of ActBlue's growing Finance team. In this role, you will operate as a strategic finance partner across the organization - combining ownership of core financial operations with high-impact analytical, advisory, and strategic project work. You will manage the entire client invoice billing, client payments and financial process cycle for all sales products to ensure accuracy, providing support in annual audits preparation and bank account reconciliations. The Senior Financial Operations Specialist prepares a variety of complex financial and regulatory reports based on the financial activity, and is responsible for assisting in the month end close process, and systems integration. You will also serve as a key analytical resource to executive leadership on financial reporting, continuous process improvements, and long-term organizational strategy.
The Senior Financial Operations Specialist will be a key thought partner to the Director of Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A), especially with regard to the billing process improvement, accounting treatment and revenue validation, the creation of new processes and systems to improve efficiency, developing new and creative ideas for issue resolution, and will engage in higher level strategic project management related to these topics. You also will serve as an expert resource for other members of the Finance team, at both a peer and junior employee level. You will partner with senior leadership across the organization in making tactical and strategic decisions by providing detailed reports and dashboards that inform business reviews, workforce planning, labor strategy, and more. You will be a trusted resource and subject matter expert for departmental and executive leadership.

WHAT YOU BRING
5 to 8 years proven working experience in accounting, including Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, month end close and Accounts Receivable Aging
Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance
Advanced technical skills, proficient in Microsoft/Excel/Google sheets
Proven experience and knowledge with NetSuite and Stripe preferred
Experience in:
client bills/invoice creation and process
managing client payments and reconciliation
cash management and bank accounts reconciliation to the ledger
managing sales tax (collection, payment, state tax filing)
revenue validation and reconciliation
preparing audits and regulatory reporting
managing stakeholders across the organization
large scale project management is a plus
identifying process gaps and deficiencies with solutions and execution
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, presentations skills, and a commitment to collaborate with people at all levels and with diverse backgrounds
A strong interest in building processes and procedures and identifying opportunities for efficiency
Strong experience successfully managing complex projects/processes with a variety of stakeholders
A natural curiosity and excellent organizational abilities
Strong problem solving skills with creativity and thinking outside the box
A team player, detail-oriented, aversion to error, big picture oriented, independent requiring minimal supervision; manager serves as a thought partner rather than an escalation point in most decisions

This posting is for a full-time, remote, salaried position. Travel may be required on a limited basis to attend all-staff and departmental retreats (1-2 times per year). Additional travel may be required for select positions.

Work Schedule: This role requires availability during established, regular business hours (Mon-Fri).
Work Environment: Employees can expect to work with distributed teams across all U.S. time zones. Our roles require extended technology usage, and proficiency with virtual communication tools such as Zoom and Slack. Regular attendance in virtual meetings is inherent to every position.
Salary Range Details:
Salary Range: $92,700 - $116,400 - $140,100
ActBlue is committed to consistent compensation practices across our organization. Final salary offers will take into account factors such as candidate experience, interview performance and current team salary parity.
