Our client, a leader in the industrial and electronic systems sector, is seeking a dedicated and innovative Senior Firmware Engineer to join their dynamic team. As a Senior Firmware Engineer, you will be an integral part of the engineering department supporting the development of advanced embedded systems. The ideal candidate will demonstrate technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and a passion for creating impactful solutions that drive industry forward.

Job Title: Senior Firmware Engineer

What's the Job?

  • Design, develop, and test embedded firmware/software for wireless electronic products used in the gas industry.
  • Collaborate with hardware engineers to specify components and ensure seamless integration of firmware with hardware systems.
  • Create and maintain software design requirements, test plans, and documentation for various platforms.
  • Conduct system functional tests, troubleshoot products, and provide technical support to manufacturing teams.
  • Lead firmware development efforts from concept through commercialization, ensuring high quality and performance standards.

What's Needed?

  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience designing, building, and testing firmware and hardware for embedded systems.
  • Proficiency in firmware development using C and RTOS, with experience in microprocessor-based systems (8-bit, 32-bit).
  • Experience working with communication protocols such as SPI, I2C, Ethernet, TCP/IP, and wireless networks.
  • Knowledge of low-power applications, revision control tools (e.g., Git), and PC-based software for controlling electronic products.
  • BS+ in Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Science, with familiarity in hardware design for explosive environments, SCADA systems, or thermostat design being advantageous.
