Senior Fiscal Officer

Our client is seeking a Senior Fiscal Officer to oversee and support a wide range of financial operations, budgeting activities, reporting functions, and fiscal management initiatives. This position will play a key role in ensuring financial integrity, supporting strategic decision-making, and maintaining compliance with applicable regulations and policies.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, analyze, and monitor operating and capital budgets.
• Oversee financial reporting, forecasting, and budget-to-actual analysis.
• Monitor revenue and expenditure activity and provide recommendations to leadership.
• Assist with financial planning, audits, and compliance initiatives.
• Develop and maintain financial models, reports, and dashboards to support operational decision-making.
• Analyze financial data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
• Collaborate with internal departments to support budgeting, financial controls, and resource allocation.
• Ensure accuracy and integrity of financial records and reporting processes.
• Support long-term financial planning and special projects as assigned.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Public Administration, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Several years of progressively responsible experience in accounting, finance, budgeting, or fiscal administration.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and financial reporting systems.
• Experience preparing financial reports and presenting findings to management.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently in a deadline-driven environment.

Preferred

• Experience working within a governmental, municipal, public sector, nonprofit, or similarly regulated environment.
• Knowledge of fund accounting, budgeting processes, and financial compliance requirements.
