Parking Lot Painting Company (PLP Co.), a Frontline Road Safety Group company, is a premier specialty contractor known for high-quality, timely installation and removal of pavement markings.Job Summary:We're looking for an experienced Senior Fleet Mechanic to lead complex diagnostics, repairs, and preventative maintenance across our vehicle and equipment fleet — from light-duty trucks to heavy-duty (Class 8) trucks and operating equipment. This role calls for advanced technical expertise, sound independent judgment, and the ability to mentor and set the standard for less experienced mechanics on the team.Job Responsibilities:
Lead diagnostics, repairs, and preventative maintenance on vehicles and equipment — from light-duty to heavy-duty (Class 8) trucks and operating equipment — per OEM specs and electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic diagrams.
Serve as the go-to resource for complex or unusual mechanical issues; mentor and train less experienced mechanics, modeling best practices and safety standards.
Remove and replace defective parts; test repaired equipment to confirm proper function.
Provide roadside assistance and coordinate towing when vehicles break down.
Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition; fabricate, weld, and cut parts as needed.
Perform DOT inspections and help ensure the shop adheres to all safety protocols.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Requirements:
5+ years of proven experience as a mechanic, with demonstrated expertise in diesel/gas engines and hydraulics.
High school diploma or GED required; welding/fabrication experience required.
Valid driver's license required; CDL strongly preferred. Clean driving record with no major violations in the past 5 years, or acceptable to our insurance provider.
Ability to lift/transport 50+ lbs. and work in varying weather conditions, with strong manual dexterity and hand-eye-foot coordination.
Willing to work flexible hours — days, nights, weekends, and occasional travel — including 10+ hour shifts and 40+ hour weeks.
Demonstrated ability to mentor and train junior mechanics, and to lead by example on safety and quality standards.
Must comply with PLP's Substance Abuse Policy and DOT Drug Control Program, including pre-employment and random testing.
